Saks Fifth Avenue Christmas window inspiration. They had this Yeti story on the most windows, but some (with mannequins) had kind of blueprint background and some soft-looking hanging snowflakes. I like that idea of mixing brutal and soft, so created two cards. With chalkboard backgrounds and Tim Holtz blueprint stamps. Then added snowflakes (covered with flock).

There is a new color challenge in a blog I design for. And the color is mint, one of my favorites. I went nautical theme this time. It's so trendy now, but I think nautical is always classic, as long as i.e. Nordic theme or chalkboard.
This simple looking background was my sixth attempt to make it clear. And still isn't satisfied with it. But by the sixth attempt I was kinda tired of making the same thing over and over again (and tired from wasting paper). So left is as it was. Stripes are stamped and the bottom part is inked with the same inks.

A masculine card I made for a challenge I design for. The classic approach of masculine card to make it in a shape or pattern of some masculine garment. I choose diamond sweater pattern. The background is created from scratch by masking and inking. Inked with black first and then with grey, overlapping a bit black diamonds (to achieve some cashmere effect). White stitched lines are made with white pen. Then the sweetest hippo came to play! How adorable he is! And with this mustache even more! He was naked initially, but then I decided that he should be wearing a sweater - so drew one. Added two buttons as finishing touches.

The last one I called - Tiffany. When I choose a cardstock for the card base I decided that the rest of the card should be silver/platinum like. Love my new Ranger Liquid Platinum embossing powder. Such an elegant color.
The base - A LOT of white embossing. That was covered with a vellum panel. The final touches - platinum DIY-chipboard and sequins. To "invisibly" adhere the vellum I embossed a cardstock strip with liquid platinum and put it on the top.

I hesitated to the very last day if I want to take these classes. Of course I wanted to take them as i just LOVE OCC. But cannot say that I'm in the card-making place right now. I live in US now, but my home country Ukraine is suffering from Russian invasion now and all my thoughts and prays are there... Eventually I decided to take these classes and when I watched videos and learned new techniques I cannot think of a floral or festive card or something like this. So I decided to devote all my card to Ukraine.
Here we go :)
On this one I used Faux Layered Die Cuts technique. Although I have only one die-cut :) The shape of Ukraine is cut on my Silhouette. Stamped words "freedom", "peace", "pray" in white ink (to have white ink resist afterwards). Masked the top part with tape and inked the bottom in yellow, then did the same on the top to ink in blue.

These are some Valentine’s cards I made today. They are going to two of my 2 1/2 daughters. I made 4.25 inch square cards. The pale pink is SU Pink Pirouette and I don’t know what the bright pink is. I had made a pale colours colour blocked panel, and cut it into thirds. Using Festive Berries Distress Ink, I stamped the rose (Great Impressions) on the watercolour paper and rounded the corners. I taped the panel flat to the card base. I used a heart punch (I am not sure of the maker, my MIL got it for me from Avon years ago) and punched 5 hearts for each card in some Pink Pirouette designer paper. With the bright pink card, I simply foam mounted the hearts onto the card, then used Evergreen Bough Distress Ink to do the XOXO (Hero Arts). For the Pink Pirouette card, I used a blender pen to edge the hearts in Festive Berries Ink, foam mounted them, then did the XOXO in Festive Berries Ink. I hope the girls like the card :D

Inspired by Free people holiday window. Then first moment I saw this wreath - wanted run home and start making card replicating this look.
Kraft background "sprinkled" with white paint, then wreath die-cuts, some twine, some felt. Felt was adhered to a white cardstock before die-cutting (this way it keeps its shape better).

Another card for CASE Study challenge.
Here I made the background using a stencil and embossing paste colored with SSS inks (dark chocolate). I love this paste and love coloring it to make it custom-colored. And then added Copic-colored die-cuts.

The first time I tried such panel. Love how bright and busy background being settled down by white panel. Although I feel like I should have chosen longer sentiment. And maybe not to put so many enamel dots.

The concept of this card - a wooden table covered with flour as one is making Valentine cookies. Some of the cookies are assembled on a twine in a form of garland, some are still scattered on the table. And the sentiment is written in flour with a finger. I feel like I was able to achieve desired picture.
How this was made. First I tone-on-tone stamped a wooden pattern on a brown cardstock. It's almost hard to see it, but it makes difference. Like no makeup makeup lol.
Then I clear embossed the sentiment. Sprayed white spray (which serves the role of flour). Clear embossing created resist effect. Next I removed embossing ironing it through a paper.
Finally I stamped hearts on kraft cardstock, covered them with enamel accents, cut and adhered to my panel.
