Lansing Michigan.

People protesting the absurd, unjust and cruel budget legislation passed by the Legislature and new Governer Rick Snyder.

I had to go. This Republican/Conservative nonsense has gone way to far. This so called fiscally responsible budget burdens the poor, working people, pensioners and state workers with $1.7 Billion in taxes and benefit cuts, while giving $1.8B in tax cuts to corporations. What kind of budget cutting is that? The legislation also strips state workers of the right to union protection and allows the governor to replace locally elected officials. No wonder people are in the streets. This is baldfaced facism.

I had to go. Sorry, I normally don't post this kind of thing, but, this is beyond the pale.

This piece of fence, which surrounds a derelict site waiting for luxury flats and offices, has this sporadic class war going on in graff.

One of the largest receivers of Contracts in San Francisco for housing units called 'SRO's' Single Room Occupancy and transitional housing units.

They manage the Mission Hotel which was run for a long time by a known Norteno Gang Member who was allegedly 'double & triple' billing The City & Providers for rooms when residents left and moved into tax funded shelters. Drug sales and prostitution were common before and is still happening today.

Protest by the LGBT+ community and supporters at the Dorchester Hotel, London, following the announcement of horrific new laws which include stoning to death of homosexuals and adulterers by the Sultan of Brunei who owns the hotel.

The protesters called for a boycott of the Sultan's hotels and Brunei businesses and eventually burst through the barriers erected around the hotel. Rainbow-coloured stones were laid on the hotel steps and a Pride flag tied to the entrance roof. The Financial Times, meanwhile, reports that many large organisations have cancelled events and bookings at the hotel chain as a result of the Sultan's decree.

Battle Of Cable Street 80th anniversary march and rally, Tower Hamlets October 2016.

Class War felt that the official celebration failed to reflect the spontaneous and anarchist nature of of the Battle of Cable Street, with too many of the speakers representing organisations such as the Labour Party which had opposed popular resistance on the streets on the day. It felt ridiculous too that a march celebrating an event where the people fought police for control of the streets should walk tamely along the pavements and a cycle lane rather than march on those streets. They held their own rally in front of the Cable Street mural. Other anarchist and communist groups joined in with flares, songs, waving of flags and dancing to a powerful sound system.

I'm not entirely sure what the message of the graff-ed graff is - Blair a socialist? Is the addition pro or anti-Blair? But it's always interesting looking at the class war in graf on this hoarding....

The March against the Iraq war in San Francisco on January 18, 2003 was the largest antiwar march since the Vietnam war protests in the 70s. It had attendance from all over Northern California and even further. The first of three major protests, the others were on February 16 and March 22.
