DPAC and WinVisible activists stand outside Downing Street with various placards and a banner.

DPAC, WinVisible and Class War activists and supporters threw hundreds of multicoloured balls over the gates of Downing Street and then blocked Westminster Bridge with a giant "#Balls2TheBudget" banner.

Cafeteria ceiling above condiment table at Next Door Shelter-Episcopal Community Services. When street cleaners spray water on sidewalk or it rains or there is thick fog, black water drips into the cafeteria. Sometimes over the condiment table where open containers of sugar, napkins and plastic ware are set. Or into a nasty bucket. Been like this for perhaps years and the City of San Francisco; HSA and Board of Supervisors all know about it, but they refuse to enforce proper health standards. We smell this nasty vapor from the ceiling and the nasty bucket every day. As of Sept. 2007, since January 2007 and years past.

The annual May Day (International Worker’s Day) march from Clerkenwell Green to Trafalgar Square took place.

Also organised (by the organisers of the April Fool’s Day G20 demonstrations last year) were four carnival parades headed by the Four Horseman of the Apocalypse. With the general election on May 6th, each of the parades ‘dragged’ an effigy of a political leader to Parliament Square to be symbolically ‘executed’. Gordon Brown (Labour Party), David Cameron (Conservative Party) and Nick Clegg (Liberal Democrat Party) were ‘dragged’ from their respective party headquarters by the red, silver and green horses, while the black horse ‘dragging Nick Griffin (British National Party) joined the May Day March.

A party in Parliament Square took place with music, samba band and Maypole Dancing. Anarchists blocked the streets around Parliament Square. Unlike the G20 Protests last year, Policing was non confrontational and there was no violence.

Heavy rain brought an early end to the protest.

Sorry folks, I couldn't resist the pun. As it goes, London N7 has a very good Member of Parliament who works very hard to represent one of the most diverse populations in the UK. Back bench Labour MP Jeremy Corbyn. 4 January 2010.

1/5/10 - London, UK. International Worker's Day protest, with four parades converging on Parliament Square, largely protesting the upcoming general election and the banking sector's grip on mainstream politics and politicians.

The Black Horse parade carried an effigy of BNP leader Nick Griffin, from Camberwell Green to Parliament Square where it would face mock execution alongside effigies of the three main party leaders

Breakfast at Hospitality House Shelter - Prepared by Glide Church for free to homeless residents. Grits with margarine and a few link sausages. Residents also get fresh loaves of whole wheat bread every day and very strong coffee. This is about the daily standard unfortunately. Residents and staff are grateful to Glide for the free food, but just wish it was more nutritious. Glide's dinners served here are usually awesome. Beef Stew, big potatoes, stir fry and lots of spinach and vegetables. This shelter does a great job on food portions and they really care about their residents.
