Cadets in the Class of 2012 practice patience as they begrudgingly accept the tradition of being accosted by plebes following the ring ceremony on Aug. 19. Plebes capture and surround the firsties while reciting the “Ring Poop” as follows: the "Ring Poop: "Oh my God, sir/madam! What a beautiful ring! What a crass mass of brass and glass! What a bold mold of rolled gold! See how it sparkles and shines! It must have cost you a fortune! May I touch it, please, sir/madam?" Some firsties devise escape plans while others simply barrel through the swarms of cadets as they try to start their weekend with family and friends as early as possible. Rooney, a history major from Pittsburgh, Pa., is considering applying to law schools after graduation. Football runs in the quarterback’s family: great-grandfather Art Rooney founded the Pittsburgh Steelers, grandfather Daniel M. Rooney is now chairman of the Steelers, and father, Art Rooney II, is the Steelers’ president.

“This past winter, I was a part of a five week internship at the U.S. embassy in Dublin, Ireland. It was a fantastic experience, giving me a look inside the operations of the State Department overseas. I helped in the Political/Economic department and also in the Public Affairs department. The highlight of the internship was taking a trip to Armagh, Northern Ireand, where I was fortunate enough to sit in on Open Forum meetings, dealing with the ever growing relations between the the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.”

“I specialize in U.S. history. I’ve always been a history buff and have always been interested in archaeology and discovering new things about our past. I feel that if you have a good understanding of someone’s or some culture’s history you have a better chance of connecting with them on a deeper level.”

All week long Princeton has been decked out in orange and black to celebrate the graduating Class of 2012. Today I found some other colors (mural, window paintings and the famous Tap Room sign). Thanks Joy. Your collage and discription of today's posting motivated me to try out Picmonkeky for the first time. It was so easy and lots of fun.
