Classix EM76638 1:76 scale electric milk float - United Dairies with the slogan 'Drinka Pinta Milka Day' on the roof blade.
The box credits this vehicle as being made by NCB (Northern Coachbuilders, not the National Coal Board!) although this would have been produced by Smith Electric Vehicles in Gateshead, part of the same company.
1082F, a new Ford 300E van from Lillie Bridge is copped attending the electrical substation! The Classix model has been modified with a printed screen, wipers and wing mirrors. I also had to mix and match bonnets and grilles to get the correct combination for the LT vehicles.
The EFE Atkinson tractor unit I bought to use with the Oxford Diecast living trailer was originally coupled to this car transporter. By a strange coincidence the blue in the Chipperfields Circus livery of the living trailer's original Bedford TK tractor unit is almost identical to that of the car transporter so it has been swapped in to pull this. The load consists of two MGBs and a Triumph Vitesse also by EFE, and a Classix Morris Minor.
The Morris Minor is a very difficult shape to model and I have seen many attempts that just don't capture it properly. Oxford Diecast and Classix have had a go at the Traveller in 1/76 scale and both have produced Old English White versions like my friend's 'Iris'. The Classix is a much better representation so it was this I chose to receive the UYR 729F numberplates of the real car.
To say that my bus fleet is lacking in modern vehicles is certainly true. This Britbus single door MB is a recent acquisition and since it is shown on an HD route it seemed appropriate to include it in the photos, even if it is strictly speaking, decades too old! The 36' foot length is quite apparent here.
