After Union Pacific began operation of the Moffat Tunnel line in the wake of the Southern Pacific merger, there was a brief era when UP assigned Rio Grande’s GP60s to the Ski Train. On the morning of March 21, 1997, the Rio Grande Ski Train approaches Tunnel 1 east of Plainview, Colorado, led by matching GP60s, Nos. 3155 and 3156.
CN 6006, a person favorite rocks it’s class as they dump a drag in Two Harbors during a November snow fall.
CSX V053 rolls through the east side of Cleveland with a pair of BC Rail Barn units, which created quite the foam fest, but made for a really cool and rare chase from Painesville, Ohio to Geenwich, Ohio. The crew kept the class lights on the entire trip which made for an even cooler chase.

After waiting for a new crew and working Collinwood yard, CSX Q635 rolls through Cleveland, Ohio with the CN 3115, BC Rail heritage unit, doing the honors. Five minutes before the train rolled by, a very heavy rain moved in along with some high winds. Later on I would find out that a small tornado touched down 15 miles west of where I was.
