This photo is dated July 1964.
My dad gave this to me. It's a picture of my grandfather's uncle, named Walter.
This is a beige 1967 Beetle, but it's not the same VW in the picture preceding this one. Not this car has whitewall tires, while the other one does not.

I saw this in the parking garage today. It's a classic VW Bug, with the rear air-cooled engine (& no hood).
My favorite parts are: the licence plate, mounted inside the engine compartment & sideways; and the Rockstar can covering a filter of some sort.

.. I drove one of these back in the day
.. test driving it, the steering wheel came off in my hands
.. so
.. jammed it back on & returned to the dealership
.. inquired about any work done on the car & was told it was "just fine"
.. asked the salesman to come out to the VW
.. reached in
.. took the steering wheel off
.. handed it to him
.. "think you should get this fixed?"
.. would have loved a photo of the look on his face
.. had A/C, too
.. roll down the windows & go 40mph !!
