This is a classic scene that draws a lot of visitors to the Falklands. Rockhoppers come back from the ocean and, after probably over one hundred "hops", they finally reach an area along the cliff where water is running from above, providing an opportunity to shower. We did not see similar behaviour by other species of penguins. The Rockhoppers seem to have a very peaceful nature. We rarely saw them displaying "agressive" behaviour, except when it came to the shower... There seemed to be some sort of rule, as to who had priority and how long you could be under it.... Very interesting to watch .. The best shower in the Falklands is close by the Rookery on Saunders Island. However, we witnessed similar behaviour on grassy hills where only little streams were running.... you can imagine how much fun it is to watch that.

You can’t go to the Brooklyn side without visiting the Dumbo area, and yes another cliche shot.

The street, even at the early hour this shot was taken, was full of the ‘selfie brigade', so I had to shoot up higher.

The sun had just risen and was bathing the bridge in a beautiful golden light.

beneath a gentle drizzle, the metropolis building in madrid rises like a cathedral of noir. moonlight cuts through the damp night, draping the scene in silver. the man crossing the slick avenue—hat low, umbrella tight—feels like a ghost from another decade. this is not today’s madrid, but a dream of its past: the street still wide open in front of the facade, untouched by the urban remodeling that would later reshape gran vía. framed in the spirit of ilford’s fp3200, the image captures the grit and grain of a time that feels both imagined and remembered.

Thanks for looking :)

I don't do street photography but I just had to grab a quick shot of this scene. I came across this scene and it looked as if it came out of Fred Herzog, or Robert Frank, or William Eggleston's world. This photo reflects the stress of operating a small business during the COVID19 pandemic.

Reflection only view at Schwabachers Landing in Grand Teton National Park. Abstract view, useful for backgrounds

As there was no chance of getting a sunrise shot the next morning due to the incoming weather I headed down there in the evening in the hope of getting some colour in the clouds but this evening just wasn't going to play ball, but with a moody sky like this I knew it would look good in B&W.

Thanks for looking 🙏😊

Saw this cowboy silhouetted on a ridge while driving to town yesterday. I couldn't pass up the shot. Presented in Black and White because it seemed more rustic and yes, cliche. Also my new icon pic.

One of my favourite things to do in Paris is to seek out the remaining arcades built during the late 19th & early 20th centuries. These arcades - called "passage" in French - are narrow passageways between buildings, lined with retail shops & covered with intricate roofs of iron and glass. Beautiful and atmospheric, they take you back to an unhurried time when beauty in buildings and public spaces was considered essential, not optional ...

This perfectly Parisian scene was in the Latin Quarter (6eme), rue St André des Arts.

In a scene reminiscent from the old Emmerdale Farm programme credits, a tractor is hard at work ploughing the fields of Model Farm, Elford in Staffordshire, followed by hoardes of ever-hungry Seagulls.

Polperro (Cornish: Porthpyra) is a village and fishing port on the south-east Cornwall coast in South West England, UK, within the civil parish of Lansallos. Situated on the River Pol, 4 miles (6 km) west of the more important resort of Looe and 25 miles (40 km) west of the major city and naval port of Plymouth. A fishing harbour surrounded by tightly packed old fishermen's houses makes it attractive to tourists, and particularly so in the summer months.

Smuggling is understood to have prospered since Polperro developed as a port in the 12th century. It reached its zenith in the late 18th century when Britain's wars with America and France precipated the high taxation of many imported goods, making it worthwhile for the local fishermen to boost their income by the covert importation of spirits, tobacco and other goods from Guernsey. Much of the success of the smuggling trade through Polperro is ascribed to the influence of Zephaniah Job (1749–1822), a local merchant who became known as "The Smuggler's Banker"
