Pink Floyd is an English rock band that initially earned recognition for their psychedelic rock music, and, as they evolved, for their progressive rock music. They are known for philosophical lyrics, sonic experimentation, innovative cover art, and elaborate live shows. They have undoubtedly been one of rock music's most successful acts.
Why I love them - I love them because Dark Side of the Moon changed my life. It made me look at music in a whole new light, as I'm sure it did for many others.
A friend recently commented that the record player does not match the 70's title of the photo and the lava lamp. Well, my title came from all the albums - all from the 70's. My answer to him was that unlike today when the average person plays their music on their phone which they change every 2 years, in the old days a teenager would settle on whatever hand-me-down or family record player that they could get their hands on and then spent all their money buying albums. So . . . the older record player is the exact unit that the owner of these albums used to have. And these are his original albums he kept from his youth 35 or so years ago!

Have you ever noticed how Father's Day commercials and advertisements almost always contain grilling and golf items? While I love a good barbecue picnic and preppy golfer attire, I'm not sure that all of the men in our lives can be placed in either the grilling or golfing categories alone.
My own father, for example, is a big fan of classic rock. I grew up listening to the Beatles. Every Saturday morning, at approximately 10 a.m., my dad would start playing the Past Masters albums and the music would continue playing until we were finished our chores for the day. Who knew you could have such great memories of cleaning the house?
If your dad or husband is a music lover, using "classic rock" as a party theme for either a Father's Day or a birthday party is a great way to play to his interests, and I'm sure he'll appreciate your thoughtfulness in the matter.

Who's KANSAS?
"From the beginning, KANSAS achieved success by playing only their original music. This garage band from Topeka was discovered by Wally Gold who worked for Don Kirshner, and released their first album in 1974.
The band has produced eight Gold albums, three sextuble-Platinum albums (Leftoverture, Point of Know Return, Best of), one platinum live album (Two for the Show) and a million-selling gold single, Dust in the Wind, KANSAS appeared on the Billboard charts for over 200 weeks throughout the '70s and '80s and played to sold-out arenas and stadiums throughout North America, Europe and Japan.
