1932 Ford Roadster.
Ninety years ago Ford rolled out the car that would change the whole idea of power, performance, and panache—the ‘32 Roadster. The car looked good enough in its myriad forms, but it was the availability of a V8 in a lightweight, relatively inexpensive body—a body from which you could easily remove the fenders, the roof, and even the windshield to make it lighter and more aerodynamic—that made it so attractive as the basis for customization. Racers and rodders have loved it ever since, and made it into the performance icon revered to this day.

One of the coolest things you'll find on a nice vintage hot rod is pinstripping...like this red & yellow stipping on this flat black Chevy. This is the "art" that is a part of classic car restoration and customizing. Look for this the next time you come across a vintage hot rod...
Three bracketed photos were taken with a handheld Nikon D7200 and combined with Photomatix Pro to create this HDR image. Additional adjustments were made in Photoshop CS6.

This was the first photo I had taken once I had arrived at Cruise Night. But I didn't think it was interesting enough, waiting to get some of the other eye-catching classic cars and then putting them up here on Flickr first. I don't know who owned it, but I'd love to see it haul ass down a road or small race track. I'm sure it would make quite a noise, too.
This is what I tend to think of when I hear the words "hot rod," or read about them. Probably because images like this are etched in my mind from looking at car magazines from the 1960s (or my brother's collection of magazines back then).

Taken last night while enjoying more of the hot rods and vintage cars at the Pony Corral.
This weekly event is really gathering momentum and last night there were more cars than I have seen in the past.
Today Chev filed for Bankruptcy Protection, when I look at this car I really have to wonder where Chev went wrong, they certainly had it right in the 50s and 60s
A good Flickr friend of mine (PrairieDog) was there and although we were lost in the crowds, I know he was active with his camera, take a look at the Chev PrairieDog posted here

The street lights weren't quite enough, so more had to be brought in, and with their own generators, Naturally, I had to get a shot from this angle, trying to get a nice dramatic effect.
