Grote Markt, the central square of Antwerp, Belgium, captured during the blue hour. The historic guildhalls and the city hall are illuminated against the deep blue evening sky, reflecting the charm and grandeur of this European landmark.
Also called buon fresco, true fresco. the art or technique of painting on a moist, plaster surface with colors ground up in water or a limewater mixture.

This is one of my photos from my week in Paris last Jan/Feb, but for some reason I forgot to actually post this at the time!
I knew I wanted to get a long exposure shot in this location as there is a constant stream of traffic going round the Arc de Triomphe, and I'm more interested in capturing these iconic places with a more serene vibe than the hustle bustle of daily life usually provides.
Anyway, I hung around here for a while looking for a suitable spot from which to take an oblique angle on the arch. Also had to contend with a woman taking seemingly endless selfies right in the way of my lens. After about a 20 minute wait though she finally had 'enough' shots for the perfect Instagram post and moved on!
This was taken on my final morning, a Friday, before heading back to Blighty.
Two young friends were taking pictures of one another with their phones. I thought that is enchanting in the atmosphere of classic architecture.

This is a photography of Wilanow Palace which is located on the outskirts of Warsaw, Poland. The palace is beautifully appointed with lots of classic architecture, paintings, ornaments and sculptures. It is a popular tourist attraction and was crowded inside, when I visited. Strangely, though, outside was nice and quiet.
Berlin: Classic versus modern architecture.
A pity I could not visit the Dome of the Reichstag building this time. My visit occurred at the same time of the reunification 30th anniversary. Every monument had long queues and the streets were crowded with tourists. Police and prevention of terrorism made those days even worse.

The Juristische Bibliothek (Law Library) in Munich's Neues Rathaus (New Town Hall) is a stunning example of neo-Gothic architecture, completed in 1906. This historic library features intricate woodwork, elegant spiral staircases, and ornate iron railings. Its collection is primarily focused on legal literature, supporting administrative and judicial work in Munich, and is open to the public by appointment or guided tours. The library’s design, with its magnificent details and artistic ambiance, makes it a cultural treasure and a popular location for filming and photography.
Strand was once a movie theater on Duval St. in Key West, FL. It opened in the 1920's and is now a Walgreen's :/
The facade of the building was renovated and painted sometime in early 2000's. The building stands out amongst all the other attractions on Duval St.
For this shot, the architecture, colors and shadows caught my attention.
This is probably one of the most photographed architectural sites in Auckland. I love classic structures, so here goes. Much better in black. Please press L.
HISTORY
The Auckland Ferry building was designed by Alex Wiseman and built by Philcox and Sons at a cost of 67,944 pounds, a large sum for the day. It was completed in 1912 on land reclaimed by the Auckland Harbour Board.
ARCHITECTURE
The architectural style of this building is Edwardian Baroque. It is constructed of sandstone and brick with a base of Coromandel granite.
RESTORATION
In November 1982 a "B" classification was placed on the building by the New Zealand Historic Places Trust. Between 1986 and 1987 the Ferry building underwent a massive restoration inside and outside. Mid 1988 the scaffolding was removed and one of Auckland's true treasures was revealed. The Ferry building was not officially opened when it was built so on 5th November 1988, the Governor General, Sir Paul Reeves, officially opened the building.
