The St Louis Art Museum in Forest Park was constructed as the Palace of Fine Arts for the Lousiana Purchase Exposition. It was designed by Cass Gilbert and based upon the Baths of Caracalla in Rome. It was constructed out of concrete and limestone instead of staff (plaster of Paris and hemp fibers). It is one of two buildings left from the World's Fair, plus the Grand Lagoon.
This building is NOT on the National Register.

Jefferson modeled the Virginia State Capitol on this structure; He is hardly the only architect to have drawn inspiration from it. Maison Carrée means square house; It was built c. 19–16 BC by Marcus Vipsanius Agrippa, who was also the original patron of the Pantheon in Rome, and was dedicated to his two sons, Gaius Julius Caesar Vipsanianus and Lucius Caesar, adopted heirs of Augustus who both died young.
The temple owes its preservation to the fact that it was rededicated as a Christian church in the fourth century, saving it from the widespread destruction of temples that followed the adoption of Christianity as Rome's official state religion. It subsequently became a meeting hall for the city's consuls, a canon's house, a stable during the French Revolution and a storehouse for the city archives. It became a museum after 1823. Its French name derives from the archaic term carré long, literally meaning a "long square", or rectangle - a reference to the building's shape.

Open House is the annual opportunity to explore hundreds of buildings in London for free and see the architecture. Many of the buildings are not normally open to the public.
The main Foreign Office building in King Charles Street was built by George Gilbert Scott in partnership with Matthew Digby Wyatt. George Gilbert Scott was responsible for the overall classical design of these offices, but Matthew Digby Wyatt, the India Office’s Surveyor, designed and built the interior of the India Office. It was built with rich decoration to impress foreign visitors.
The Ballarat Synagogue at 2 Barkly Street in East Ballarat, is one of the few surviving Nineteenth Century synagogues in Victoria. Designed by architect T. B. Cameron, the Synagogue was built in 1861. Situated on the Victorian goldfields, its importance was such that its first Rabbi was Av (head) of the first recognised Australian Beth Din. The gold rush brought many Jewish people to Ballarat and the first congregation was held in 1853 and for decades the local community was the largest in the Victorian colony.
The single storey building is one of the early surviving buildings in Ballarat and is important in the streetscape and townscape of the city and in the history of the area. Architecturally the structure is an interesting example of conservative Classical design, given distinction by the architectural treatment of its facade and portico. The main facade of the brick structure was corner Tuscan pilasters supporting a parapet entablature. Paired Tuscan squared columns and pilasters support the pedimented prostyle portico and the windows are roundheaded.
The interior of the building, with features such as the ladies gallery, is in very good condition. The interior seen today is the result of extensive remodeling in 1878 including notable internal use of Victorian iron lacework panels on the balconies of the gallery and magnificent ceiling fretworks from which hang impressive crystal chandeliers. Beautiful windows with blue and red stained glass panels fill the Synagogue with light. Presiding above all is a very grand arched stained glass window created in 1884, which according to legend, is made from glass taken from a 16th Century Irish mansion.
Even the avenue leading to the Palladian house echoes the magnificence of the whole estate, being a mile long and lined by over 2,000 beech trees. In addition the 47 acres of gardens are remarkable for their grandeur of scale, at the same time combining great delicacy and refinement of detail.
The house was gutted by fire in 1974 but recently has been reborn as an exceptional tourist destination. The entrance hall now features an exhibition bringing to life the rich history of the estate, while the double height Georgian ballroom has been restored and hosts weddings and corporate events. The house is now home to the best of Irish design in gifts, clothes, and furniture in the Avoca Stores and the Interiors Gallery. You can also treat yourself to a dish from the Avoca Cookbook in the Terrace Cafe.

This is the Theater of Herod Atticus
The Odeon of Herodes Atticus is a stone theatre structure located on the south slope of the Acropolis of Athens. It was built in 161 AD by Herodes Atticus in memory of his wife, Aspasia Annia Regilla. It was originally a steep-sloped amphitheater with a three-story stone front wall and a wooden roof, and was used as a venue for music concerts with a capacity of 5,000.
The audience stands and the 'orchestra' (stage) were restored using marble in the 1950s. Since then it has been hosting the theatrical, musical, and dance components of the Athens Festival, which runs from June through September each year. It also hosted Yanni's Live at the Acropolis performance in September of 1993.
The Mills Mausoleum is an example of Classical architecture. Note the elaborate Corinthian columns. The Mills (Merrill I. and Merrill B.) were executives in Detroit's stove industry.

The Young Mausoleum is another of Woodlawn's classically styled mausoleums. Imposing columns with Ionic capitals give this strucure a sober and serious appearance. The natural color of the stone has been changed slightly with a brownish tint.

Actually this is an outdoor classical theatre designed in 1997 as a new addition to the Getty Villa by Rodolpho Machedo and Jorge Silvetti.
