I hit the 15m views milestone on 31st December so figured I'd scan a few slides from the 1970s where it all started. Was it really 11 years ago when I opened the Flickr account?!
Pictured here are 'Black 5' 4-6-0 45379 and 4-6-2 'Pacific' 71000 'Duke of Gloucester' standing at Dai Woodhams scrapyard in Barry with good cause for optimism of being saved.
I wonder if the same could be said of the dockyard crane in the background, owned by C H Bailey Ltd.
Just behind the 'Black 5' is what looks like a 'Jinty'. I've a few candidates from my notes, but have yet to find a positive ID.
Update: After further research, and on the basis of the markings below the number and along the frame, I believe the 'Jinty' is 47298. If you have any better information, please let me know!
Map placement is directional.
Thanks to everyone who has taken a peek over the years.

...I never quite figured out why Yellow's truck are orange. Yellow is one of the biggest LTD (less-than-truckload) logistic companies in the US.
The setup for this shot is risky, but I was bored when travelling from Chicago to Madison. In the construction zone between Rockford and Beloit traffic goes very close together so trucks are close to you on the left. I held me 10-20mm with a polarizar out the window (not too much) and aimed backwards as I let the trucks passed me - and I love how this and some of the shots below came out...
I got the idea when spotting a car hauler full with VW cars. Then I decided to shot it from the side while passing it. Although that shot (one of ten of so) turned out well the ISO was too low. Since both I and the truck are moving I increased ISO to 400. Then I decided to try to shot trucks from the side and from the front. To get the main shot I kept the camera close to the window and aimed backwards as the trucks were passing and fired multiple shots...
