This Class One decided to pull into our pits, but since we weren't pitting any more class ones I thought he was just coming over the burm. For a second I was terrified I was going to get hit because I didn't know what he was trying to do and was coming right at me. I think he decided to pit at the last second which was why he was carrying so much speed.
He skidded to a stop in our pits next to me. Mike talked to him, and they needed some oil. Since our one Class1 was out of the race, Mike decided we would help them. I poured a quart into the buggy and was wishing I had paid the extra 20 for the nomex gloves that went up my fore arm instead just the normal nomex gloves when i nicked one of the pipes.
At least I got the shot. You know what Robert Capa said, "If your pictures aren't good enough, you aren't close enough." or at least that saying is accredited to him. And yes, I do realize how Capa died.
