Clara Sulzer was the daughter of the owner of Sulzer's Harlem River Park and Casino. She died in 1904 at the age of 19 from complications of appendicitis. She had recently been engaged and was buried in her wedding dress.

Clara Vale is renowned for its chocolate box setting of a whitewashed church sitting on the banks of the Avonmore River and a beautiful stone hump-back bridge spanning the river with its five arches (I make it 6 in this shot!). This is the bridge down stream from the church. The old school house is just visible through arch number 3.
Golden hour in full swing here around 8am on a beautiful morning. The low sun lit up the bridge nicely.
To get the milky cascades look, a pair of wellies is essential. Although when you are this close to the water, you tend to get water splashes on the lens. I like to compose in live view - often when the tripod is sitting in deeper water than the wellies will allow. Closed down to F22.0 and ISO100 to get 1/6 sec exposure time. I don't like to go too long as the water gets very milky. That's a matter of opinion I suppose... 10-22mm is the lens I use for this type of shot. It gives a bit of wide angle distortion on the bridge though. The debris to the left is a bit messy but I wanted to include all the arches in the frame.

I really should be in bed >.>
Anyhow...the hair was a pain in the butt, mostly 'cuz I dunno how to work with such a complicated style (and the green refused to come all the way out, the downfalls to only having CS2 -.-) I did figure out how people do the spiffy backgrounds (thanks mom!) so I think this turned out pretty decent overall \o/

I don't have a lot of information on this HL/RSH(??) built industrial tank engine. Numbered 14, it was photographed at Clara Vale colliery in the Tyne Valley.
Clara Vale colliery opened in 1893 and closed on the 05th Feb 1966. My grandfather who took this photo worked there for a number of years.
Any information on the locomotive and it's history would be much appreciated.

Niece Nicole with Clara the Circus Dog, a King Charles spaniel. We were on our way to have lunch to celebrate Nicole's birthday. Too bad there’s no audio; Clara was “talking,” asking for a head rub.

Clara, was a girl who was a subordinate and servant in a noble family, Carvain. She has served this family for generations. Her parents who were also former servants of the aristocracy made her very loyal to her employer. Unfortunately, Clara is a girl who is mute and also deaf. So she could not get more attention from the employer nobles that she served, except someone who cared about her. Given special direction and affection also makes Clara's loyalty towards that person higher and more valuable than her own life. Therefore she vowed to do whatever was ordered by the aristocratic family she served at this time.
