At nightfall, Lisbon's Praça dos Restauradores is transformed into a stage of contrasts between the artificial light that frames the historic buildings and the sky painted in warm, soft tones. In the center, the Obelisk stands as a symbol of resistance and freedom, celebrating Portugal's independence in 1640. The discreet movement of people and cars adds a modern cadence to this timeless setting, uniting history and the present in a moment of serene harmony.

This is one image in a series on the city at night–––the magic and lure of its lights, the mix of architectural styles, the resulting dynamic when framed with a portion of the purely functional parking decks which served as my shooting platform.
