The NT401 all-rail rolls west into Northtown Yard with 3 SD60Ms back in July 1997 in Minneapolis, MN. We're in the second full year of BNSF here so this empty taconite train might have actually been going by the alpha UMADALL symbol, but it still looks pretty much BN here between the ore power and the SD9 on the Pullout Job. The only real clue it is after the merger are the newly delivered BNSF ore cars on the head end with the circle logo. The logo plates on those particular taconite cars didn't last too long.

An executive MAC, still wearing the original BNSF logo thunders by the Becker Wye switch headed east for Chicago.

For all the years (10 now) I've ventured trackside, it wasn't until this moment I captured a Circle Logo MAC leading a train.

With most MACs in storage and lacking PTC, I didn't think the chance would ever come. But indeed there are still surprises to be had trackside.

Though the preferred sun angle was lost, it was worth taking a shot.

BNSF built the wye in Becker back in 2020, it's main purpose is access to Northern Metals to load unit scrap trains and send them east. Yet to see a Becker coal load or empty use it, but you never know.

This newer signal provides a new "photo prop" to use when shooting a train. First time using it, I like the results.

Removed the brand “Lidl”

The hot Z-South Seattle to Chicago zooms out of Becker with a pair of older veterans on the BNSF roster.

Both locomotives sport the old BNSF logo, sometimes referred to as the "wagonwheel". The swoosh came to be in 2005, so this makes for a scene almost out of 2004 instead of 2024.

Few SD70MACs are in active service, and even fewer are equipped with PTC, so to see one lead a Z train is a treat.

Outside of a couple scheduled photo events, I haven't been trackside to shoot a train since last May, so it was kind of fun to get out again. Not much to see trackside lately, GEs dominate the day, especially at Northtown.

Two years ago I shot the 9650 leading a vehicle train. flic.kr/p/2nGaJKf

At that time it was the first time shooting a circle-logo MAC leading a train, two years later, got another swing at it.

The White Pass and Yukon Route is a Canadian and U.S. Class III 3 ft narrow-gauge railroad linking the port of Skagway, Alaska, with Whitehorse, the capital of Yukon. An isolated system, it has no direct connection to any other railroad.

Early in the days of BNSF's H1 painting spree, shops like Mid America didn't have enough BNSF circle logos from time to time, so certain units were released without them for a short period of time until one could be applied. Here BNSF B23-7 No. 4264 is grinding up Olathe Hill westbound with BN C30-7 No. 5000 trailing. Train H-KCKTPL1-03.

I'm a huge fan of the number thirteen. I had this ring of thirteen #3 angle connectors (yeah, it stresses the parts; no, I don't care :P) that I was thinking of maybe turning into some kind of display for thirteen minifigs. Then, on a totally unrelated quest to find a new, interesting use for those thornax launcher bits, I had the idea to stick them in this ring. Lo and behold, the gap in the centre is a perfect fit for the zamor balls. This is unbelievably lucky, because my original idea with the ring of thirteen was to try to get this exact effect. I gave up when I couldn't get the centre to be centred. So now I've got my esoteric thirteen-around-one symbol and an awesome spiral-within-a-spiral! ^_^

BZPower topic here - STORY TIME KIDDIES =D

Yes, it is just me. Me and my friend (she's a good photographer) did it as a joke :)

But who knows? Maybe Chanel will really like it, or someone will see it and decide they think i'm perfect for the new Lancôme ad :)

besides faking Chanel Advertisements, i've also been working on a short student film "You Dropped This" it was one of the top 16 out of 68 films that won at Catholic University's Campus Movie Fest, and has the chance to go to New York City :)

The Lloyds TSB bank branch on Hanover Street is the former Edinburgh Savings Bank (1836 - 1975), a Trustee Savings Bank, later part of the TSB Bank. TSB Bank floated in 1986 as TSB Group plc and merged with Lloyds Bank in 1995 to form Lloyds TSB Group. Trading continued in Scotland as Lloyds TSB Scotland, as it does to this day under the further consolidated and enlarged Lloyds Banking Group.

If you look closely you can make out the ghost of the lettering of the original signage above the door and the old conjoined circles logo from TSB Bank days.

MAC's resident SW1 switches an ex-CNW GP15 to an adjacent track, while running alongside this ex-BN SD70MAC. Units with the circle logo on the nose seem to be increasingly rare.

When I drove by the Topeka Shops after work today, I was happy to have found an old BN, wagon-wheel, Grinstein Green SD70MAC (BNSF 9650) sitting at 4th St. as part of the KPL power set. As such, I made a point of running out on this chilly January evening to get some shots of it, as daylit shots of it would've been horribly backlit.

That being said, night time doesn't care about sun, and the clouds actually turn out to be an asset, as they streak across the sky in these long exposures.

I would've preferred one of the units that still (again?) has a BN logo on the nose, but this is a close second, and far ahead of the empty noses that're out there. Regardless of logo concerns, finding ANY KPL power that's anything but orange has been rare in the last few years, so I'm happy to document the variety when it shows up.

Moving down the hill through Penn Ave. on Main Track 4 of the KCT East-West Corridor is KCTL train Y-310 heading back home to KCT's Mill St. Yard with 19 cars from the Joint Agency KCS-CP Knoche Yard. Today, they're using a former UP SD60M, one of a pair that arrived on the KAW/KCTL a couple months ago.

To the right, the recently restored Bicentennial Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe Railway SD45-2 No. 5704 is seen on display at KC's Union Station on Track 27. It made it's public debut on Flag Day, June 14, and will be here through the 19th. This also coincides with the Santa Fe Railway Historical & Modeling Society's convention being held in Overland Park, KS this week.

The KAW/KCTL's SD60M's were painted at Mid-America Car earlier this year, wearing a new variation of Watco's corporate paint scheme. Though used only for KCTL business, they sport revamped logos for the Kaw River Railroad, who operates trains for the KCT/KCTL. These are the first six axle locomotives for this Watco property.

Being honest, I can't say I'm a fan of the way these look. Watco's current looks is already unimaginative, and though I think there could be potential with this, it still isn't any better. The blank nose and the generic circle logo certainly don't make this very appealing. Maybe this'll grown on me a little more, but who really knows. I figured I'd shoot one of them at least once, and it definitely helps to have a locomotive wearing a much more attractive paint scheme in the same frame. 6/17/22.

Rolling through the few trees that still stand near Rosby, Clay Boswell empties roll through the area after our first significant snowfall of the season. This morning we had about half a foot of snow, but as the day time heating increased, the snow decreased down to about 4-5 inches.

I do have to say, a few years ago I hated these circle logo'd Exec's, but as the BN logo'd ones have disappeared they have become much more attractive.

Can't tell what was under the sticker but its neat to see a CDS Cascade

BNSF 8070, the only SD40-2 to get the circle logo on the nose, surprised me in western Nebraska on September 26, 2004. I ended up doing a 180 to get to this location, where there is a landmark for the photo.

The only GP30 to get the circle logo was BNSF 2472. On a morning where I got skunked down at Apache, this was my consolation prize at Holbrook, AZ. The logo looks decent, but I wish they would have redone the yellow paint, as well!

BNSF 9547 EMD SD70MAC trailing a southbound coal train in Tomah, CO, Aug 17, 2015. It's been a while since I've seen one of these with the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway circle logo on the nose, very nice.

MATERIALS- Adobe Illustrator, Found photograph, DaFont.com

PROCESS- Using the pen tool, I created shapes to layer the shadows, highlights, and mid tones of each subject. Then using research of my subject, I lauded out the type and found a circle logo of my subject for the bottom.

IDEA- How could I use shape and colour to illustrate local travel places in the style of the WPAs National Parks poster series.

I am so in love with this car, and thse are the little details I love most: The logo on the wheel is right-side up. Once upon a time the folks setting up these cars didn't care. Now, they do. And for this precious logo, I am so glad they did. It's a timeless piece of art that hasn't changed much in a while and I think they're better for it. Long live Lincoln!

Something a little lighter than usual. I had a couple of these at the Picturedrome last night.

Today we'll visit the south end of the R&N, North Reading Yard. A facility constructed from nearly nothing in 1991 (one year after their acquisition of the Conrail Reading Cluster) into a long 4 track yard complete with a weigh in motion scale for outbound loads of Anthracite, passenger platforms (called Outer Station), Mr. Muller's reproduction railroad signs, lit switchlamps, a water tank, a spur with displayed equipment (including 4-6-0 No. 225, sporting this logo) and as of 2018 a yard office constructed in the fashion of a Reading Company interlocking tower.

Yard jobs go to work here at 6 o'clock am and pm. Usually a pair of MP15's live in the yard coupled nose to nose. Although there are no active customers there are occasional runs up Mr. Muller's original acquisition, the former Blue Mountain & Reading. Just south of outer station is Belt Line Junction, now NS property. The morning job will go across Belt Line Junction first thing in the morning to pull the interchange from NS. Delivering the interchange off to NS is usually the last thing the evening job does. Access to the former BM&R is also achieved by going onto NS at Belt Line Junction and going north a short distance to get back on home rails at Temple. The line is being used for oil car storage at the moment, though not long ago was cleared temporarily for a former RDG GP39-2 to be delivered to the Reading Company Technical & Historical Society's museum at the end of the line in Hamburg.

Horch was one of the original components of "Auto Union", as indicated by the 4 interlocking circles logo on the grill, which is in addition to the Horch Radiator emblem and Logo near the top of the grill [as seen in a previous photo].

Toyota has been transitioning from the old "Hybrid Synergy Drive" branding to the new "Beyond Zero" circle logo and "HEV" lettering.

With my growth of my brand and the opening of my mainstore I've decided to update my logo.

I wanted something basic, yet interesting to look at. I kept the original k circle logo, but warped it to make it look more abstract. ♥

B&O X1728 was a very interesting car; it began life as a wood-sheathed ice reefer built by ACF for the Santa Fe. It was one of thousands in classes RR-W and RR-X built in the first 20 years of the 20th century. After WWII, this car was rebuilt with steel and likely served into the mid 1960s when most of the fleet was retired or went into company service.

This car was purchased by the B&O, and is seen here in company service at Brunswick MD. This car was used to shuttle ice from Winchester Va to Brunswick for the RR.

It was repainted and renumbered shortly after this 1982 photo to B&O 960241. Being a non-revenue car, finding a class designation *if any* has not been successful. Additionally, I have not found when this car was relieved of this service.

Note the "Route of the Texas Chief" lettering and ATSF cross-circle logo bleeding through. I can't wait to built this car for my layout some day! no photographer listed, JL Sessa collection.

Although I haven't uncovered any specific information regarding Thomas Edison's Uncle Sam automaton at the Columbian Exposition in 1893, I suspect that it wasn't too far removed from the inventor's unsuccessful talking doll, which appeared in 1890. For info on this, see Gaby Wood, Edison's Eve: A Magical History of the Quest for Mechanical Life (Knopf, 2002); Edison’s First, Less Scary Talking Doll Recording, a posting on The History Blog; a page dealing with the Edison Talking Doll - 1890; and, finally, a short segment on Edison's Talking Doll (with a demo of the doll!) that aired on Discovery's Oddities show.

In celebration of World Diabetes Day on 14th of November, TOUCH Diabetes Support, a community service organisation in Singapore providing care and support for people living with diabetes, orchestrated the lighting up of the Iconic Singapore Flyer in Blue. The evening event was attended by over 300, consisted of people living with diabetes, their loved ones, healthcare professionals, volunteers, and pharmaceutical companies in diabetes care. Singapore’s Minister of State for Health, Dr Amy Khor graced the occasion, identifying with the message of bringing diabetes awareness to the masses. Participants, all wearing white Tshirts with the blue circle logo, formed a glowing human blue dot using Blue LED Wands, set against the backdrop of the Singapore Flyer. It was indeed a Blue Circle Moment as they shouted in unison "Act Now Change Tomorrow" and saw the turning of the Flyer in blue!

After the ride on the Flyer, participants walked around the vicinity giving out Blue balloons and an ‘Act Now’ card to the crowds . The ‘Act Now’ card is a simple risk assessment tool created by TOUCH Diabetes Support, to allow anyone to check for the common signs & symptoms associated with diabetes. Through this card, participants were able to create awareness of diabetes and share about the significance of World Diabetes Day.

On December 21, 2019, I traveled to the Florida State Fairgrounds to visit the Annual Train Show held at the State Fair Grounds. At the show, there were several operating Layouts of various sizes & Gauges, along with Model Trains, Model Cars, Railroad Themed T-Shirts, Hats, Coffee Mugs and various other Memorabilia.
