Just by turning the mandala around, we create a whole new feel and look.

Close-up of several pieces made by Adina Gwatkin. These are the handles of kitchen utensils and garden tools. They are very very tactile and colourful. Dipped many times in bright coloured paint with occasional layers of silver or gold leaf. At the end of the process the pieces are carved to reveal these ringed designs. They are fascinating, functional and fun.

Thanks to the good people in the Photography Critique group, this is likely my final edit of "Circle" (this version having a perspective change from "Circle (redux)"). Dug out an ancient copy of Photoshop Elements 4.0 to add a strip of pure black along the top to give room for a rotational crop; besides that, this image is mostly untouched. It looks like Flickr is moving to circular buddy icons. The icons themselves are still square, but they are displayed with rounded corners. Here's a quick way you can make a square file that you can verify will look good as a circle too. Tutorial: Make your new circle buddy icon in the PicMonkey group.

Cuantas veces giramos alrededor de un mismo tema, cuantas veces nos movemos sin mirar fuera, la inercia nos convida y no permitimos que nos alcance el movimiento fuera de ese circulo.

A veces llega el momento de buscar fuera.

The Knowlton Circles are a cluster of Neolithic and Bronze Age monuments near Knowlton.

There are four enclosures, three are of normal henge form, Church Henge, Knowlton North and Knowlton South, and the fourth is a squarish enclosure known as Old Churchyard.

Church Henge is the best preserved of these monuments and encloses the ruins of Knowlton Church. Nearby is the large round barrow known as Great Barrow and a number of other round barrows are also focused on the area.

Church Henge (also known as the Central Circle) is the best preserved of the three henges at Knowlton. It is an oval enclosure surrounded by a ditch and earthwork bank. The enclosure is orientated roughly northeast to southwest and measures 106 metres by 94 metres. The enclosing ditch is 10 metres wide and up to 1 metre deep. The outer banks are 10 metres in width and stand up to 1.75 metres high. They consist of a series of straight lengths linked by rounded corners. Three gaps are present in the bank, to the southwest, east and northeast. It unclear which of the gaps are original, although the east entrance is likely to be original, whereas the west entrance was altered at a later date, possibly after the construction of the church.

Early Christian activity at Knowlton is indicated by a mid-to-late Anglo-Saxon inhumation cemetery which was discovered to the east of Church Henge in 1958. Excavations located sixteen burials within chalk-cut graves, some aligned east-west. The earliest parts of the church are the 12th century chancel and nave and there are 15th and 18th century additions and alterations.

In 1646 the Vicar of the parish of Horton, which included the chapelry of Woodlands and the church at Knowlton, petitioned the church authorities that, as he was too poor to maintain a curate at Knowlton and too old to carry on the services at Horton and Knowlton, the inhabitants of Knowlton should use Horton church on Sundays and holy days.

In the 18th century, or earlier, the roof fell in and the church was abandoned.
