Crosley Field was the 5th baseball stadium used by the Cincinnati Reds. Out of 7 baseball stadiums used by the Reds, it was the longest tenured stadium being used from 1912-1970. It was torn down when Riverfront Stadium was built and opened for the 1971 baseball season. On June 24, 1970, the Reds played their last game in Crosley Stadium versus the San Francisco Giants. The Reds won 5-4. After the game, all the bases were removed and sold in charities except Home Plate which was used in the new Riverfront Stadium. This base right here was the third base used for many years at Crosley Field including that last game. It is now located in the Reds Hall of Fame in Cincinnati, Oh.

Reds game 45/40. Backed by a four-run first inning versus the Reds Josh Smith – following a 2 hour and 31 minute rain delay and marked by Miguel Montero's two-run double – the Cubs Dan Haren allowed just three hits over 7 1/3 innings to help the Cubs move within three games of the top spot in the NL Wild Spot. Todd Frazier exited with a slight Achilles strain before Joey Votto extended his on-base streak to 46. The Cubs won 4-1. And the Reds losing streak was extended to 10 games. :/
A 11th-round draft choice by the Giants in 2010, he spent part of the 2014 season in San Francisco before joining the Reds last season. Jay Bruce had the day off, and Duvall moved to right field from left field.

Theodore Bernard "Big Klu" Kluszewski (b: September 10, 1924 – d: March 29, 1988 at age 63) was a MLB first baseman who played on four teams for 15 seasons, 1947 through 1961.
He was a top star in the 1950's in the National League, much in the same way that Rocky Colavito was a big star in the American League. Big Klu had plenty of power - he is perhaps best remembered for his massive arms, forgoing a T-shirt beneath the sleeveless uniforms that the Cincinnati Redlegs wore in those days. However, he also posted high batting averages and had excellent bat control. His most successful year was 1954, when he was second in the MVP voting behind Willie Mays after leading the league in home runs (49) and RBI (141). He struck out just 35 times. The next season, 1955, he had 47 homers against 40 strikeouts, while also leading the league in intentional walks.
Traded to the Chicago White Sox in August of 1959, he slugged .826 for them in the 1959 World Series. During that '59 season, Sox owner Bill Veeck introduced, for the first time in the major leagues, a team uniform with the players' names on the backs of their jerseys. During a road trip to New York, Ted Kluszewski became the first player to appear in a game with his name misspelled, with a backwards "z" and an "x" instead of the second "k".
Career statistics:
Batting average - .298
Home runs - 279
RBI - 1,028

Went to the Cubs-Reds game on a Wednesday, August 14. Cubs got spanked 5-0, getting swept in a three game series.
Some Cub fans, and non-Cub fans, relax at Waveland and Sheffield before the game.

The guy in front of me; when he wasn't busy taking pictures of cute girls in the crowd (including Miss Ohio who was a few rows back from us), he occasionally took a photo of the action on the field. This is one of those rare moments.
