Please forgive the slightly missed focus, this was taken as my 24-70mm lens was failing, and before an expensive repair.

Thank you for your comments and support. Take care.

There are certainly far fewer 'analogue' smokers on the streets of Glasgow these days, replaced and augmented by vapers.

I hope that you all have a great week ahead and if you are in the UK, can make the most of the extraordinary week of summer-like weather we are forecast to get. Take care.

Breath is underrated. Since my 4th Takotsubo Syndrome Attack 9 days ago I am facing breathlessness with simple chores. Just walking up the stairs. Hanging out the washing. Doing the dishes. All require breath recovery time afterwards.

I have to remember that Takotsubo, while not a 'heart attack', is still an injury to the heart and that it can take a month or two for the heart muscle to recover.

I don't know if I have the luxury of time and rest right now.

Another one from the archives.

barcelona at night. a face caught in thought, framed by steel, smoke, and invisible weight. light brushes skin and hope, while the city flickers on in the background.

she sat on a bench, scrolling, exhaling, lost in a thought she didn’t share. the smoke curled between us, vanishing before it could settle. a glance—direct, unreadable, gone in a second. plaça del rosari, a fleeting moment given, not taken.

The same day I shot the old garage I thought these would be appealing also.

Tip of a cigarette

under the dim glow of the city’s restless night, she sits. her gaze, piercing yet distant, holds a story etched in the lines of her face—one of resilience, solitude, and fleeting moments of introspection. the soft radiance of streetlights dances on the bottle at her feet, an unspoken companion to her solitude. the smoke of her cigarette swirls gently upward, dissolving into the cool darkness, as if carrying her untold words to the silence of the city. these steps, a passage between the rambla and plaza mayor, become her stage—a fleeting pause in the relentless pulse of palma’s nocturnal rhythm.

100mm macro of cigarette smoke that has been butterflied/mirrored in photoshop. i see a cat's face. Please check it out on instragram instagram.com/p/BfuMLe8Atn9/

This picture indicates towards the harmful and addictive effects of smoking. It implicates the darkness looming from the shadow of smoke while the light of life incinerates.

A quick and stealthy shot of the person sitting next to me. Japan is still a smoker's paradise in many ways. As a non-smoker all I can say is (cough cough).

An experimental Nexus-7 replicant created by Eldon Tyrell (Joe Turkel), Rachael initially believes she is human, having possessed implanted memories belonging to Tyrell’s niece. She falls in love with Blade Runner Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford).

“Blade Runner” is loosely based on Philip K. Dick’s 1968 novel “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?” The film is set in a dystopian future Los Angeles in which synthetic humans known as replicants are bio-engineered by the powerful Tyrell Corporation to work at off-world space colonies. When a fugitive group of advanced replicants led by Roy Batty (Rutger Hauer) escapes back to Earth, burnt-out cop Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford) reluctantly agrees to hunt them down. [Wikipedia]
