Rumble Churn, what a great name for a piece of coastline, how descriptive. This shot was taken on a calm day, but you can imagine the noise if this coastline was being hit by heavy wave.
Churning in the sky and in the water at Palouse Falls.
Thanks for looking!

Hurricane Lee was a little east and north of the mainland but the surf and winds were enough, you knew it was out there churning.
Taken at Chalky Beach, Swansea Heads, NSW, Australia.
As always, thanks for any comments, views or favorites, they are much appreciated!

Long exposure capturing the churning storm clouds glow in beautiful light as the sun sets behind the Tenmile Range Colorado. Quandary Peak.
The Churún River is a river in Venezuela, part of the Orinoco River basin. It is located in Canaima National Park and a tributary comes from the Angel Falls, which are the world's tallest single-drop waterfall.
I love the somber and moody effect that heavily overcast conditions can add to a seascape image. It strikes a completely different tone than a cheery sunrise or sunset.
From my window in Carcavelos, overlooking Oeiras, this amazing "beast" paid me a visit and left me in awe...
Da minha janela em Carcavelos que dá para Oeiras, este maravilhoso "monstro" visitou-me e deixou-me espantada...

Walking around Chinley Churn, with Chinley village and Chapel-en-le-Frith just visible in the distance.
I remain quite taken by the "Painting" like appearance of these long zoom photos. My bridge camera goes into digital zoom at extreme distance and while that usually annoys me, in this case I feel that it was an addition. For an idea of the distance involved, one may look back several photos in my photo stream to one titled "As We Do" with a photographer setting up with Morro Rock in the background. I was shooting down the length of the Strand Beach to the Rock.

Oksana is working hard in the dairy cellar churning butter. She brought the baby calf in to keep her company.
This idea of the dairy cellar for cheese and butter preparation & storage came from my visits to Old Sturbridge Village where a dairy cellar is part of the Towne House and barn.

At Living History Farms ( recreates American history) - a young boy churns butter by hand like they did back in the old 1800's.
Happy Bench Monday!
When doing the B&W conversions that follow I thought this one looked good in either processing. It's one of my favorites from the folder.

This is the third photo in my little series on the huge wedge tornado north of Sulphur, Oklahoma on May 9th of this year.
It looked amazing before this when I could see the supercell structure as well as the tornado itself, but the backside was absolutely incredible. The churning mass of clouds was spellbinding and I could have stared at it for days.
I had a morning on the Northumberland coast yesterday to a location I’ve always wanted to photograph but never got around to it. As a sunrise location close to the winter solstice it’s an easy for me to access, only an hour away on the road. The road being the A1, the great north road, the only thing great about is the level of non investment by successional governments. I had a good hour and half where I had total blue skies to nearly overcast. Here is an image. Nearing the end of that period at nearly 9:00 then I headed for a fantastic walk up to Embleton bay and back, then back on the road again for a much needed walk with Missy.
We decided to chase the weird (in a good way) 196 a bit, now seen diverting off of the aforementioned Whiting Lead and back onto the main. 3 miles from here will find the crew at their destination, with a ride home awaiting.
