I am fascinated by Jackson Pollock’s work. I love them but I think they look like a painter's drop cloth. When I see his work I always think "I could do that." But I wonder whether that's really true. Is there more going on here than seen at first look?
This piece is actually quite large. I photographed it at the Metropolitan Museum in New York. It is called Autumn Rhythm No. 30.

This little astronaut was made for a project I was planning on making. It's been on hold for a long time, and now I even think of canceling it. The plan was to make a small book about this astronaut, but I figured it would take a crazy amount of work and time, without any certainty about the results. I might still do it later, in a different artform... mysterious eh? :)
But since I made this character (he doesn't have a name yet) I figured I should use it :)
This was not the shot I wanted to use today, but my inexperience with my flashes plus the lag of film shot down the other ones I wanted to use. So you get sloppy seconds.

Been awfully busy for the past 2 days and I don't even know why. Just constantly running around hmm, having fun, I s'pose.
I'm sorry if I have a photo of teh shoes, AGAIN. Will try to take decent photos soon. I promise :x

Turned the camera on by mistake but the odd perspective and the little details of the London streets and pavements caught my eye so I kept it rolling. It's just a part of my normal walk from the office to the tube but I love how of much London you see (and hear) even when you're just looking down.
Some highlights:
- 00:00 - a typical London pavement, road and road marking. Nothing out of this world but there's that extra London grittiness to it.
- 00:32 - these little odd yellow things on the pavement. They're something to do with water or something.
- 00:44-01:01 - stairs at Leicester Sq tube station
- 01:15 - the ticket gates at Leicester Sq tube station
- 01:24 - going down the escalator at Leicester Sq tube station and the busking in the lobby
- 02:16-02:29 - an underground train.
Headphones optional but recommended.

I don't have any 6x6 film yet, so I took some shots through the viewfinder while the snow hasn't fully melted yet.
I know it's a bit cliché, but I'm quite excited! :)

Spent some time at the park this evening. Had it mainly to myself,since it was still 96 in the shade...
The little boy kept me entertained catching these tiny perch, throwing most back. But he did give a couple to the resident Egret. If you look close you can see her neck is wounded. She got hooked by a "hook". It seems to be healing. The kid said it happened a week or so ago. He's there most every day "fishin'" for the big one!!

I made this image last week when I was feeling quite low. When I 'm doing self portraits there are times when they end up revealing my emotions to me. I did not intentionally set out to capture this feeling. It's just what came out when I put myself in front of the camera.
The first definition of retreat is "an act or process of withdrawing especially from what is difficult, dangerous, or disagreeable."
On the good news front...I just returned from a fabulous girls weekend with some of my amazing friends and it was just the retreat I needed!
