Chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH) is a complication of pulmonary embolism and a major cause of chronic PH leading to right heart failure and death. Lung ventilation/perfusion scintigraphy is the screening test of choice; a normal scan rules out CTEPH. In the case of an abnormal perfusion scan, a high-quality pulmonary angiogram is necessary to confirm and define the pulmonary vascular involvement and prior to making a treatment decision. PH is confirmed with right heart catheterisation, which is also necessary for treatment determination. In addition to chronic anticoagulation therapy, each patient with CTEPH should receive treatment assessment starting with evaluation for pulmonary endarterectomy, which is the guideline recommended treatment. For technically inoperable cases, PH-targeted medical therapy is recommended (currently riociguat based on the CHEST studies), and balloon pulmonary angioplasty should be considered at a centre experienced with this challenging but potentially effective and complementary intervention.

I still cannot shoot like I was used to... stooping, bending over, sitting on the ground, etc as is necessary to shoot macro, still isn't possible for me. For now, I must be content to (re)edit and (re)publish shots in my archives.

Uvac River for many centuries meandering in the rocks, was drilled canyon, whose limestone walls reach up to 350 meters. After the construction of the dam in 1979 and the damming up of water, a tank similar to a winding snake was created.

In 1994, a nature reserve was created along the flooded canyon to protect the population of the griffon vulture. Initially, there were only 7 pairs of this bird, currently their colony numbers about 300 individuals. A griffon vulture is a rare species with a wingspan of up to 3 meters and a weight of up to 11 kg.

W roku 1994 wzdłuż zalanego kanionu utworzono rezerwat przyrody, aby chronić populację występującego tam sępa płowego. Początkowo było tylko 7 par tego ptaka, obecnie ich kolonia liczy około 300 osobników. Sęp płowy to rzadki gatunek, którego rozpiętość skrzydeł dochodzi do 3 metrów, a waga do 11 kg.

Background:

"Forget ME not" was created to raise awareness about M.E (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis) - an extremely debilitating, life changing, complex chronic disease that has received shamefully low attention and fundings for research for decades. Patients are being disbelieved, misunderstood and dismissed. There is no treatment and no cure.

Over 20 million people across the globe are affected and in the aftermaths of COVID this number is quickly rising (many Long Covid patients end up being diagnosed with M.E).

During our events in May we will create awareness, break the stigma and fundraise for the "Open Medicine Foundation" who conduct research into M.E, Long Covid, Fibromyalgia and related chronic conditions. They are a registered, US based non-profit organization that has been around for over 10 years.

Living with chronic health issues is hard and that hit home Thursday evening. I went to go out to chase the aurora, but as I was driving, I became too sick and too weak to keep going. Looking back it was the Lord’s grace to get me back home as I would not have made it and the aurora came much much later than expected. However, there was a second chance of the aurora the following night. I decided to take a chance and this time my wife was able to join me. The conditions were far less favorable as it looked like we would be completely clouded over, so we prayed. We prayed that the clouds would clear and the aurora would hold up long enough. It was supposed to peak between 3-6pm, but instead it peaked between 7-8pm when we were there. The clouds cleared almost entirely and I shot this image just minutes before the moon rose and the aurora faded. The Lord literally made all of this possible! It truly was a redemptive night and one I am very thankful to have had!
