Named after my longtime friend, Colleen, who is a true Irish girl that loves her GREEN!!
These earrings were shaped using various guages of 14/20 gold filled wires. I've been making a simpler version of these earrings for years and these are my more updated ones.
Clusters of Prehnite onion brios, Prehnite smooth brios, Chrome Diopside rondelles, and tiny White freshwater pearls decorate the bottom of the earrings. In the center is a 3D Celery quartz cube.
The earrings measure 2 1/2 inches from the top of the earwires to the bottom and is 3/4 inch wide.
Chrome diopside glows with green. In fact, when its color is less than ideal it tends to be from too much green rather than too little. This is more likely to happen in sizes above three carats: the green can be so dark it can look black.
But chrome diopside in small sizes jumps with vivid, fresh green color and sparkles with brilliance. It is the most affordable gemstone with a pure rich green color. It's availability makes it the perfect green gem for earrings. I've teamed them here with faceted moonstone rondells.
Kimberlite from Kitikmeot Region, Nunavut, Canada. This hand-sized specimen contains several obvious green chrome diopside and abundant smaller wine-red pyrope garnet, which are colorful kimberlite indicator minerals (KIMs) that a prospector looks for.
The characteristic white fragments are fallback clasts of fine-grained limestone of Paleozoic age. This means the 172 million year old Jericho kimberlite pipe penetrated sedimentary cover rock formation that has since been eroded away.
The stacking ring set, completed. Overall, eleven rings each with a different stone or design, working together in the stack as a whole. A wave motif runs through all eleven rings. Altogether the eleven rings measure approximately 7/8" wide. All the rings are sterling silver and the stones include Swiss blue topaz, chrome diopside, iolite, amethyst, and London blue topaz. This was a custom order.
I've hardly made any new jewellery since November because (thankfully) I've been so very busy with orders and commissions, but I just couldn't resist these fabulous rough-cut peridot nuggets. The colour is simply stunning, so I teamed them with clusters of silver-wrapped peridot in two different cuts, some chrome diopside, green apatite, and some tiny green pearls. Finished with a decorative dragonfly Hill Tribe clasp. Hallmarked.
A subset of half the stacking rings, showing how they can be grouped together or in bunches. This set includes six rings, one of which is a spacer without a design or stone.

Galilea Earrings
The Galilea earrings feature a beautiful mixture of gemstones and semi precious stones perfect for the Spring and the Summer! These earrings are also a perfect pair to have because the mix of colors lends itself to many different combinations. They go with everything!
These earrings are approximately 2 inches long.
The stones and materials used to create this beautiful mix:
Peridot, Amethyst, Lavender Amethyst, Citrine, Spessartite Garnet, Red Garnet, Madeira Citrine, Chrome Dioside, Rhodolite Garnet and Blue Zircon. Eye clear lavender Amethyst briolettes are poised right at the center of the cluster of stones and are enhanced by ornate 24k Vermeil bead caps. The cluster of stones is suspended by delicate 14k Gold-filled chains and attached to a single Garnet stone poised right underneath gorgeous 24k vermeil ear posts.
A design created while I couldn't sleep...I wanted to make an earring representative of a flower but still affordable in today's trying economic times.
These are amethyst and chrome diopside.
A recent commission. Stunning quality rough cut peridot, topped with a cluster of three different cuts of microfaceted peridot, green apatite, and chrome diopside for added depth. Finished with sterling silver earwires.
Two titanium rings. The one on the left is based on one of the three rings (besides my wedding band) that I normally wear. It features a 5/16" band with a slightly narrower titanium strip that is riveted and wrapped in place. In the gap between the ends of the titanium strip is a small platform with a 4.5 mm bezel set chrome diopside cab. On either side of the cab are three 14k gold granules.
It is a size 9.25.
The other ring is a new design and is described in detail in a separate photo.
Group of Diamond Indicator Minerals collected from the Sloan Ranch (1 & 2) diamondiferous kimberlites, Colorado. Note the beautiful purpoe to deep red G10 pyropes, the yellow eclogitic garnets, and perfect transparent emerald green diopside. This deposit was acquired by me for DiamonEx Ltd in 2007,
I set out to make a pendant with the shape of a medieval shield. I think it ended up looking more like a necklace bust with a necklace on it, lol. Sterling silver and chrome diopside.
Inspired by the Wire Artisan's Guild theme of Emerald Isle (chosen by Karla from Thyme2Dream), I created this shamrock tiara.
The copper wire was unevenly twisted, to more look like vines that have grown into this shape...or were called to this shape by the Faerie Queen that wants to wear it.
The shamrock has a bright green chrome diopside dangling from the center top, and is highlighted with bright green square glass beads.

This necklace was made to match my Colleen earrings. The pendant is shaped using various guages of 14/20 gold filled wires. Clusters of Prehnite onion brios, Prehnite smooth brios, Chrome Diopside rondelles, and tiny White freshwater pearls decorate the bottom and the center of the pendant.
The pendant measure 2 inches high and 1 1/4 inch wide. There's tons of gems loaded on the pendant! The chain is hand fabricated with more gemstones and small goldfilled jumprings. At the top of the necklace is a double link gold filled chain.
The length of the necklace is at a longer length of 18 inch with a 1 1/2 inch extender. The clasp is a fancy handmade S hook. My signature clusters of gemstones hang from the extender.

I´ve tried to take some good photos of these earrings, but none seem to make them justice. I love how the colors came out together and what a bliss it would be to see them on a beautiful redheaded woman with a stunning red dress!

Tonal greens will grab the eye, especially a stone that is so deeply saturated as chrome diopside. Each faceted teardrop is topped with a micro faceted rondelle of peridot. Deeper and warmer green than emerald, with much more depth of color, this striking gemstone is mined only in Russia for a short portion of the year due to the extreme temperatures of the climate. It is paired with expertly checkerboard faceted peridot briolettes that are clear and bright. Each stone is wrapped in sterling silver wire that has been oxidized and buffed to a deep gray. Oxidized sterling silver chain connects the hammered sterling silver bows to my handmade sterling silver earwires to complete the look. Sure to please the adventurous August baby or the lover of green, they are lightweight and comfortable enough to become her favorite pair!
Brilliant orange carnelian and sunny citrine teardrop beads, with vivid green chrome diopside faceted rondelles and a golden vermeil clasp, 18 inches.
Because of its color and the fact that the gemstone chrome diopside is mined in Siberia, it is known to some as the Siberian emerald. It requires no heat treatment or other modification to display an intense green color. With twice the refractive index of emerald, it displays a vibrant, diamond-like sparkle.
A flutter of beauty
A shock of color
The amazing Monarch Butterfly!
The focal point of this necklace is a stunning, detailed artisan lampwork bead from Annette at AJ Beads. It shows a Monarch Butterfly in its rich, orange glory. Falling from the bead are three handwrapped, rare Black Russian Star Diopside smooth pears ranging in size from 8mm to 12mm. These beads show an amazing cat's eye effect that is nearly impossible to photograph. The "eye" shows itself with a rich silvery gleam.
The necklace is comprised of stations of individually unique Australian Boulder Opal nuggets (10mm to 20mm in size) and faceted, fancy cut Carnelians (11mm to 17mm in size) all embraced by 22kt gold vermeil spacers and gold fill rounds. All handwrapped with gold filled wire to gold filled rings and ultimately to an oval linked gold fill chain. This one of a kind, 20" fantasy closes with a gold fill lobster claw clasp. Decorating the back is a AAA 10mm Carnelian faceted teardrop and three dainty 4mm smooth Chrome Diopside ovals. The lampwork drop falls 3".
a stunning vibrant green peridot and chrome diopside necklace. over 40 periridot and chrome diopside faceted briolettes adorn this piece. the closure is an oxidized hook & eye, also and a shari signature, butterfly charm. Necklace is 18.5 inches end-to-end, but can be adjusted as small as 15.5 inches.
