Chrome Hill is in the Peak District. The view here gives a good perspective of the landscape around the area.

From low on the ridge. I came up via the ridge, but an easier and safer route to this point in the wet is accessible from the valley on the right

Sunrise this morning from Chrome Hill in the Peak District.
I have been watching the weather the last few weeks now as this is a location that id like to shoot when its at its maximum "mist" potential, ive shot this area over 20-30 times now from this very spot, and from various other vantage points including Parkhouse Hill (opposite), Hitter Hill, Dowell Dale and even as far as High Wheeldon Hill using telephoto lenses.
This is still not the image that I had or have in my mind, but I am defiantly happy with it - I guess im my own worst critique to be honest always trying to make something better.
I think without the mist it wouldn't be much special, the mist really adds to the shot for me.

Chrome Hill is definitely my favourite! There aren't as many peaky mountains in the Peak District as expected, making it even more special for me. That light this morning was just unreal!
I keep coming back to this set of images - not entirely happy with the processing.
I think ive got it this time...
Freezing cold, 4am standing on the side of a hill taking a 90 second exposure. Life doesn't get any better than this! I love it and wouldn't have it any other way.
Even managed to get a few star trails :)
