I'm not the biggest fan of Pine scents, I'll be the first to admit that, but blended with Cinnamon, it's pure holiday heaven!
Frankincense and Myrrh Essential Oil Handmade Soap
This golden colored bar is made with frankincense and myrrh essential oil. It has a wonderfully strong, spicy, fantastic smell to it! I have added gold sparkle mica to give it a bit of shimmer and enriched with unrefined shea butter, sweet almond oil, jojoba oil and vegetable glycerin.
I use almost all of my plain (meaning no added herbs and stuff) as shampoo bars. My method: Lather up a wash cloth really REALLY good and squeeze it out onto your hair. This is easier then trying to lather your hands and then transfer. Scrub it up and use the remainder for your body. Close your eyes for the hair part though - or ouch! Then rinse and you are all done. You've saved water, time and smell great too. Ah…
It's good to let your soap air out between uses for a longer lasting bar. Store your handmade soaps in a cool dry place letting them breathe. I cut mine in quarters to make them last longer :-) and this way I can use a different soap everyday - yay me!
Hand crafted soaps are so good for your skin. No added chemicals and all the natural glycerin is retained. I'll never go back to buying store bought chemical laden soaps.
Maybe you are wondering if essential oils are right for you. I'm not a doctor moonlighting as a soap maker. I'm not making any medical claims that aren't present with a little research. Please use your best, wise judgment and research essential oils, their properties, effects, benefits and cautions when using them. There's a great wealth of information online and it's just a click away :-) Here's a really good website with a breakdown of essential oils and their properties: www.organicfacts.net/organic-oils/natural-essential-oils/... Are you pregnant? Congratulations! But many essential oils may be harmful to you, it's best to not use essential oils when you're pregnant.

One of Jen's creation. Having a hard time photographing it. I think for the soaps I should switch to the 50mm lens. The 100mm 2.8 Macro does not provide enough DoF to cover the entire soap.
