It's Movie Night again and Stormtrooper Bruce is relieved to finally have a normal one, or at least as normal as things can be when it comes to Movie Night. STB knows the guys are good sports and over time have learned to accept come what may.
TK-432: Dude! We made it! And early this time, too! But, um, where's the P's little precious?
TK-1110: We thought after last weekend, you'd be stuck with little you-know-who until the end of the month.
STB: You'll be pleased, and shocked, to learn my 'Nephew Sitting Duties' were only for last weekend. Now sit down so we can get started. Our first course is ready and waiting!
TK-432: But - you still have his Christmas in July decorations? Why?
STB: Just in case little you-know-who makes a surprise visit. So, what in the Great Galaxy is that you're holding?
TK-1110: It's a Christmas present. Just in case.
STB: OK. Is it for me or the kid?
TK-432. Both! Actually, it's a coloring book and crayons for him, but you get you some peace and quiet while he's occupied.
STB: Awesome! I'll toss it under the tree... just in case. You guys are the best!
TK-1110: And your nachos are the best, too! But, just in case, we better hurry before they get cold, and those brewsies get hot.

DADDY: "What did you receive from Father Christmas and the Christmas Bear, dear Nanuk?"
NANUK: "Oh Daddy!" *Sighs with pleasure.* "I received something so special! I have a lovely big mug for drinking chocolate from, and I have some special Dutch cocoa to remind me of my time at Mummy Marian's."
DADDY: "Oh Nanuk! That is wonderful! Does that make you happy?"
NANUK: "Oh it does, Daddy! So much!"
DADDY: "That makes me so happy, dear Nanuk!
NANUK: "Oh thank you Father Christmas and the Christmas Bear for my special and delicious Christmas gifts!"

Thank you for all the interest you have shown in our photographs and adventures this year, and all the support and encouragement you have shown. We really do appreciate it.
May you have a wonderful Christmas; safe, and filled with happiness and love whomever you spend it with and whatever you may do.
Once upon a time, not so very long ago, there was a bear called Nanuk. Nanuk is a Polar Bear. The Teddy Bear Orphanage in the Netherlands recently contacted my friend Mummy Marian who is well known for being a generous host for bears who need a home. They told her that Nanuk has been living at the Teddy Bear Orphanage for quite some time. They also told Mummy Marian that he's very unhappy. Sweet Nanuk was born with a rare disease: poor body temperature regulation. He\'s always cold! The Teddy Bear Orphanage were looking for someone who lives in a country where it never freezes. Mummy Marian immediately thought of me, as like her, I am well known for being a generous host and making my home available to bears who need a family. Mummy Marian felt that Australia (where I live) would be the most perfectly wonderful place for Nanuk to live: a warm country with me as his Daddy, and many bear friends to make a family for him. I considered Mummy Marian’s request, and I immediately said “yes”! I think Nanuk will be a very happy Polar Bear, living with me and all my bears. We don’t know the end of the story yet, because of course, Nanuk’s tale is only just beginning! However, I do think he will live happily ever after!
A friend opens his Secret Santa present at our annual Christmas party, which this year was in Reading, Berkshire.
Taken with a Nikon D40 and a Nikkor AFS DX 18-55mm F/3.5-5.6G II lens. Off-camera lighting via a ceiling-bounced SB-600 flashgun fired via a Yongnuo radio trigger, and processed in GIMP and Photoscape.
There is the old saying that good things come in small packages, and this includes Christmas presents!
I wonder what delights lie within these prettily wrapped gifts in the palm of my hand?
Anyone who follows my photostream knows that I love and collect 1:12 size miniatures which I photograph in realistic scenes. The artifice of recreating in minute detail items in 1:12 scale always amazes me, and it’s amazing how the eye can be fooled. This gives you not only an idea of scale of these items, but also the amount of realistic detail that can be created on something so small!
These Christmas presents are 1:12 artisan pieces. They were hand made by husband and wife artistic team Margie and Mike Balough who own Serendipity Miniatures in Newcomerstown, Ohio.

Jago was a gift from a dear friend in England. He is made of English mohair with suede paw pads and glass eyes. He is a gentle bear, kind and patient who carries an air of calm about him. He is already fitting in with everyone else very nicely.
Daisy-Maud is Jago's little sister and was made by the same friend in England who made him. She is made of German mohair with floral fabric cotton paw pads that match her pretty sunhat, and glass eyes. A sweet and loving little girl bear, she is happy to be reunited with her big brother, Jago, and enjoys being spoiled by her new Daddy.
For Christmas this year, a very dear friend of mine in America sent me a big package of fun and fabulous Christmas gifts, including four pairs of Christmas and holiday themed socks. The theme for “Smile on Saturday” for the 13th of January is “socks”, which at first did not particularly enamour me, until I remembered my newly gifted Christmas socks. Over the last two years, I have been exploring a new avenue in my photographic creativity, that of portraiture photography. I have used a somewhat illusive sitter for several “looking Close on Friday” and “Smile on Saturday” themes over that time. He has kindly returned, and this time he has removed his trousers (he’s such a good sport) to show us this fun side, by donning the Christmas socks I was given, which he has accessorised in a slightly cheeky and risqué way with his own French crushed red velvet couture jacket that he had made about two decades ago for a Christmas ball he attended. The socks and his jacket looked so lovely and bright that I had to make them the stars of the shown in a selective colour image.
For many people, socks are a rather utilitarian part of their wardrobe – a necessity rather than a thing of beauty, or as in this case fun, because you seldom see them, or much of them. Yet when my model put on my socks, he has shown that even if not seen often, they can still be a fun article of clothing, even if only to amuse yourself.
Although this is far from my usual subject for my photography, I hope that you like my choice of this week’s theme, and that it makes you smile!

Can't you see, up in the sky
Strange black figures coming down
It's raining stoopid people (uah uah)
It's raining stoopid people (oh yeah)
But don't be afraid
'Cause our umbrellas will protect us
Our umbrellas
Our umbrellas of ingenuity.

Simple Joy.
Every gift she got she carefully unwrapped and said Aaaa or Ooooo and was thrilled and started playing with it.
She used long time and enjoyed them all.
The other guests had to wait unwrapping their own presents because grandma couldn't move away from something so simple and precious as this lil precious one 🙏
Simon was very worried that Santa though he was a bad boy and he would be skipped over this Christmas morning.
Don't worry Simon. I told Santa you were a very good kitty this year. I'm sure he won't forget you! (and he didn't!)

30th November 2019:
Santa got here early this year, but he's gone back to the North Pole until the 24th December. Something else from my sister.
Although this is a fun photo, I would just like to pay tribute to the very brave people who stopped the attacker from doing any more harm in London yesterday.
And my thoughts are with the families who will have this Christmas without their loved ones. R.I.P.
Better viewed large and thank you for your favourites. :O)
Just because Christmas is over for another year doesn't mean you can't still indulge a little! A few days off work mean there's time to make many many batches of delicious mince pies — you simply can't beat the taste you get when you bake them yourself — the mincemeat *needs* to overflow and caramelise making a sticky gorgeous treat!

If curious, the bodies are 'Light Gray Technic, Engine Piston Square' recently found/acquired them, because I was curious : D
JAGO: *Sniffs air appreciatively.* "Excuse me Paddy, but what is that smell?"
BOGART: *Sniffs air appreciatively.* "It smells like Christmas, Jago!"
JAGO: "Whatever it is, it's giving me a grumby tummy, Bogart!" *Rubs tummy vigorously.*
SCOUT: "Oh goody!" *Jumps up and down.* "Christmas must be here!"
PADDY: "I keep telling you, Scout! Christmas is still a few weeks away."
JAGO: "Paddy? Scout? Bogart? What is that delicious smell?"
PADDY: "Daddy has been doing his Christmas baking, Jago. Every year he makes fruit mince pies and shortbreads for family and friends as Christmas gifts."
BOGART: *Sulks.* "Oh that is disappointing Paddy!"
PADDY: "Why is that, Bogart?"
BOGART: "Well, that means that these are all for other people, and none are for us, doesn't it?"
SCOUT: "I wouldn't say that Bogart." *Giggles.* "After all, we are family, aren't we?"
BOGART: "I suppose so."
JAGO: "Of course we are, Bogart, and surely Daddy's friends won't eat all of these delicious Christmas treats!"
SCOUT: "Of course you are family Bogart! You too Jago! You are as much family to Daddy and to us as Cousin Paddington or any of us! We love you both and we hope you know you are our family."
JAGO: "Oh I do, Scout! You have all made me feel so comfortable, happy and at home."
PADDY: "I'm so glad to hear that Jago, and I am sure that Mummy June is happy toe hear this too!"
BOGART: "I am so happy here that even though I miss Mama Kim and the Riversing Bear Clan, I am so happy here that I want to stay forever and ever!"
COUSIN PADDINGTON: "That's good little Bogart."
PADDY: "I'm sure some of these fruit mice pies and shortbreads are for us Bogart. They can't all be for other people."
BOGART: *Perks up.* "Well, that's alright then Paddy! I think I am having an attack of the grumbly tummies!"
SCOUT: *Giggles.* "My attack of the grumbly tummies is compelling me to eat at least one, two or ten of each!"
DADDY: "Oh, hullo you five! What are you doing amidst all my freshly baked Christmas fare?"
PADDY, SCOUT, COUSIN PADDINGTON BOGART and JAGO: "Grumbly tummies DADDY! Grumbly tummy!" *Rub tummies vigorously.*
My Paddington Bear came to live with me in London when I was two years old (many, many years ago). He was hand made by my Great Aunt and he has a chocolate coloured felt hat, the brim of which had to be pinned up by a safety pin to stop it getting in his eyes. The collar of his mackintosh is made of the same felt. He wears wellington boots made from the same red leather used to make the toggles on his mackintosh.
He has travelled with me across the world and he and I have had many adventures together over the years. He is a very precious member of my small family.
Scout was a gift to Paddy from my friend. He is a Fair Trade Bear hand knitted in Africa. His name comes from the shop my friend found him in: Scout House. He tells me that life was very different where he came from, and Paddy is helping introduce him to many new experiences. Scout catches on quickly, and has proven to be a cheeky, but very lovable member of our closely knit family.
Jago is a recent addition to my ever-growing family. A gift from a dear friend in England, he is made of English mohair with suede paw pads and glass eyes. He is a gentle bear, kind and patient who carries an air of calm about him. He is already fitting in with everyone else very nicely.
Bogart has travelled all the way from Georgia, via Alabama as a gift to me from a friend. He has lovely Southern manners and seems to be a fun and gentle soul with an inquisitive nature.
Our friends Mark and Frank gave Ralph this puppy for Christmas. Ralph just loves him. I had come home with several bags on Christmas Eve and Ralph, who never ever checks out the bags, ran right over and pulled this little guy out of the gift bag that it was in. Merry Christmas, Ralph.
Ralph really wanted his puppy to take over his duties in the 52 weeks group and tried to hand over the reins to him, but I told him he had to tough it out for another year. So this is our challenge shot..... Close but no new dog for the 52 weeks group.
When I was a child, 10 years old to be precise, I caught my mother wrapping our Christmas presents. Thus confirming my long held suspicions about Santa Claus!
Easing the pain of this discovery was my very first watch, an actual wind-up, ticking watch and time has ruled my life ever since.
DAISY-MAUD: “Hullo Jago!”
JAGO: “Hullo Daisy-Maud! Good, you are just in time for some elevenses!”
DAISY MAUD: “Elevenses! Oh goody! I do have rather a grumbly tummy! Grumbly tummy Jago! Grumbly tummy!” *Rubs tummy vigorously.*
JAGO: “Grumbly tummy Daisy-Maud! Grumbly tummy!” *Rubs tummy vigorously.* “We have some delicious biscuits on the offing, dear sister.”
DAISY-MAUD: “Oh, and I see you are using your beautiful Goldilocks and the Three Bears tea set that Father Christmas and the Christmas Bear brought for you the Christmas that I arrived here at Daddy’s.”
JAGO: “Yes.” *Proud.* “I thought I’d take advantage of Scout’s absence whilst he is staying with Peter at Mummy Marian’s house and use my tea set.”
DAISY-MAUD: “Oh yes! No remarks about that No-Good-Break-And-Enter-Home-Wrecking- Goldilocks!” *Giggles.*
JAGO: “Indeed not, Daisy-Maud!” *Giggles too.*
DAISY-MAUD: *Takes a seat next to Jago.* “Shall I be mother bear then?”
JAGO: “If you would, Daisy-Maud.” *Pauses.* “Daisy-Maud?”
DAISY-MAUD: “Yes Jago?”
JAGO: “Daisy-Maud, why do you have your pretty pink reticule with the beaded top with you? You keep all your special little treasures in there.”
DAISY-MAUD: *Sighs.* “I know Jago. I was coming to talk to you about them. Do you think that my collection of pretty trinkets might be worth anything, Jago? I mean, I have some pretty shell buttons and some brass ones too. They must be worth something!”
JAGO: “Well, I don’t know, Daisy-Maud.” *Concerned.* “But why would you be wanting to sell your pretty collection of precious treasures? I know you have collected them for as long as you have been alive, finding them under sofas and lost behind cupboards. They are very precious to you!”
DAISY-MAUD: “Oh, I know Jago.” *Sighs.* “It’s just that…” *Sighs again.*
JAGO: “What is it, Daisy-Maud?” *Worried.*
DAISY-MAUD: “Well, you know your best blue bear friend, Benny who lives at Mummy Marian’s house?”
JAGO: “Yes of course, Daisy-Maud. What about him?”
DAISY-MAUD: “Well, you know how he took me to the Night at the Proms at the Royal Albert Hall?”
JAGO: “Oh yes, Daisy-Maud! You wore Daddy’s Great Great Grandmother’s pearls. You looked so grown up and beautiful! I thought you had a good time with Benny! I thought you like him!”
DAISY-MAUD: “Oh I did enjoy my evening with Benny! He was such a gentlebear and so kind and solicitous towards me. It was one of the most wonderful and romantic nights of my little life, Jago, and I do like Benny very, very much! He makes my heart go flippity-flop!”
JAGO: “Then what’s the matter, Daisy-Maud?”
DAISY-MAUD: “Well Jago, you see, Benny told me that he spent all his money on that lovely evening for us and he can’t afford another fancy dinner for us. He said that he could treat me to a dinner of fish and chips and a glass of lemonade.”
JAGO: “Well there’s nothing wrong with that, Daisy-Maud! You were born in Norfolk, not a stone’s throw from the sea! You love fish and chips, and lemonade too!”
DAISY-MAUD: “Oh I know, Jago, and I would be only too happy to enjoy a lovely slap-up dinner of fish and chips and a glass of lemonade with Benny, but I’m concerned that he has the wrong idea about me, Jago.”
JAGO: “What Daisy-Maud? I… I thought you liked Benny!” *Concerned.* “He will be upset and so disappointed if you don’t like him. It took all his courage to ask you to go to The Proms with him!”
DAISY-MAUD: “Oh no Jago! I do like Benny, very, very much!” *Blushes pink beneath mohair plush.* “He’s the sweetest, loveliest gentlebear. What more could I ask for?”
JAGO: “Then what is it that you think Benny has wrong about you?”
DAISY-MAUD: “Well Jago, he always calls me a fine lady.”
JAGO: “But you are a fine lady, Daisy-Maud! Mummy June taught you well, the same as she did me, to mind your manners and be a polite little bear. Daddy does the same.”
DAISY-MAUD: “But I think Benny thinks I am a very grand lady bear. I mean, I know I wore those pearls, but they were only borrowed from Daddy. I don’t go around like Queen Lilibet of the Bears wearing pearls and a crown.”
JAGO: “No, of course not, Daisy-Maud.”
DAISY-MAUD: “I’m just worried that Benny is trying to impress me with grand gestures when he really doesn’t have to. I’m just Daisy-Maud, a sweet little bear who was born in the seaside village of Blakeney in Norfolk who likes the simple things in life, like sunsets, the seaside, playing hide and seek, reading faerie tales and lots of big little bear hugs and snuffly kisses.” *Sighs.* “I don’t need Benny to go to a big fuss on my account, and I feel badly that he has spent all his money on me. I thought I might sell some of my treasures to help pay him back, at least for my half, Jago.”
JAGO: “Oh, put your treasures away, dear Daisy-Maud!”
DAISY-MAUD: “But Jago! Benny…”
JAGO: “Daisy-Maud, Benny wouldn’t want you paying him money back when he has spent it freely on you. He likes you very, very much too!”
DAISY-MAUD: “Then how can I tell him that he doesn\'t need to take me to a fancy restaurant, or spend lots of money on me to make me happy, Jago? My idea of a nice dinner is a dinner with bears I love, like sweet gentlebear Benny! So fish and chips and a glass of lemonade, or even a home cooked meal at Mummy Marian\'s house and a sit in the garden with him would be romantic, and more than enough for me, because he will be there!” *Blushes red beneath mohair plush.* “I have very simple tastes really.”
JAGO: “Well you should just tell him, Daisy-Maud!”
DAISY-MAUD: “Oh! I can’t do that, Jago!” *Covers eyes with paws.*
JAGO: “But why not, Daisy-Maud? You know that both Mummy June and Daddy encourage all bears to tell the truth!”
DAISY-MAUD: *Uncovers eyes.* “Oh Jago! What if he thinks less of me because I am not a grand lady bear? I don’t want to lose his affections!”
JAGO: “Oh, you won’t lose Benny’s affections, Daisy-Maud! Trust me! He will appreciate your honesty, and he will probably feel much better knowing that he doesn’t have to impress you with fancy dinners, and that just a lovely evening under the stars with him will be enough for you.”
DAISY-MAUD: “Do… do you really… think so, Jago?”
JAGO: “I do, Daisy-Maud. Now, why don’t you pour the tea? Everything is so much better after a nice calming cup of tea.”
DAISY-MAUD: “Especially one taken from a lovely No-Good-Break-And-Enter-Home-Wrecking- Goldilocks and the Three Bears tea set!” *Giggles.*
JAGO: “Exactly! And then we can work out how best to tell your gentlebear Benny the truth about how you feel!”
DAISY-MAUD: *Claps paws and smiles.* “Oh Jago! You are the best big brother any bear could ever have! You are so smart and wise! I love you Jago… and Benny too!”
JAGO: “I love you too, Daisy-Maud, and I know that Benny will be pleased to know that you love him too. Come here and I will give you a big little bear hug and a snuffly kiss!”
DAISY-MAUD: “Oh thank you, Jago!”
My bear Jago has made very good friends with a bear called Benny www.flickr.com/photos/40262251@N03/galleries/721577200585... and his Mummy Marian Kloon (on and off) Jago and his best friend Benny are very similar. Benny recently finally plucked up the courage to ask Daisy-Maud (whom he has been admiring from afar for a long time) out to a Night at the Proms as you can see here: www.flickr.com/photos/66094586@N06/53815237068/in/gallery... or in the first comment below. Benny and Daisy-Maud had a lovely and romantic evening together as you can see here: www.flickr.com/photos/66094586@N06/53845547859/in/gallery... or in the first comment below. Now Daisy-Maud needs to make sure that Benny loves her, and not an incorrect image he may have of her.
Jago’s Christmas present from Father Christmas and the Christmas Bear a few years ago was a beautiful 1930s Goldilocks and the Three Bears tea set for four. It was made by an unknown maker in Stoke-on-Trent. Not all the set is being used today. It features beautiful, brightly coloured transfers of different parts of the faerie tale.
Jago was a gift from a dear friend in England. He is made of English mohair with suede paw pads and glass eyes. He is a gentle bear, kind and patient who carries an air of calm about him. He is already fitting in with everyone else very nicely.
Daisy Maud is Jago\'s little sister and was made by the same friend in England who made him. She is made of German mohair with floral fabric cotton paw pads that match her pretty sunhat, and glass eyes. A sweet and loving little girl bear, she is happy to be reunited with her big brother, Jago, and enjoys being spoiled by her new Daddy.
Such a pretty thing to tear.
On a silly note, I accidentally stained my hair pink from the red paint!

My, tiss' "New Years Day",
old ones gone, horrah, horray.
Has been a rough ride for sure, with wars, inflation, hard core.
But now a brand new one's here,
so neck the whisky and supp the beer.
So happy singing, yes I must say,
Tiss' grand to be celebrating 🎶🍻 "New Years Day"
