Une vue vers l’ouest à partir du rond-point de cette avenue. Cette avenue est une voie de circulation centrale, longue de près de deux kilomètres et suivant l'axe historique de la ville reliant la place de la Concorde et son obélisque de Louxor à la place Charles-de-Gaulle et son Arc de Triomphe. Site touristique majeur, elle a souvent passé pour la plus belle avenue de la capitale, et est connue en France comme la « plus belle avenue du monde ».

Picture from Pershing Square live concert, on the background the buildings of Downtown Los Angeles.
Pershing Square is a public park in downtown Los Angeles. The park is one square block in size, bounded by 5th Street to the north, 6th Street to the south, Hill Street to the east, and Olive Street to the west. It sits on top of a large underground parking garage.
Seasonal events occur in the park such as a temporary Ice rink in the winter time as well as live concert performances in the summer.

On voit ici la traditionnelle patinoire devant l'ancien YMCA et à droite, le Capitole de Québec (1879), place D’Youville dans le Vieux-Québec.
Ces deux édifices bordent le nord de la place D'Youville, aussi appelé le carré D'Youville (traduction de l'anglais square). C’est une place fréquentée située au cœur de la ville de Québec. Située sur la rue Saint-Jean, tout juste à l'extérieur des remparts, cet espace marque la frontière entre la colline parlementaire et le Vieux-Québec. De façon plus large, le terme peut englober, en plus du carré ou square à proprement parler, le terminus d'autobus de la place D'Youville du RTC, le Palais Montcalm (une salle de spectacle), le Capitole de Québec, le théâtre Le Diamant ainsi que les abords immédiats. La place sert de patinoire extérieure durant l'hiver et à l'ouest on retrouve la sculpture Les Muses d'Alfred Laliberté, don du Gouvernement du Québec pour le 375e anniversaire de la ville en 1983.
L’ancien YMCA était jadis abrité dans le bâtiment patrimonial de gauche datant de 1879.
Construit de style Beaux-Arts d’après les plans de l’architecte américain Walter S. Painter en 1903, le Capitole, nommé Auditorium de Québec à ses débuts, comprend une salle de spectacle et des bureaux. En 1927, Famous Players, par l’entremise d’une filiale, se porte acquéreur de l’édifice qui est alors rénové par Thomas W. Lamb puis renommé Capitol en 1930. L’entreprise cinématographique transforme la salle de spectacle pour les besoins du cinéma tout en lui conservant ses propriétés multifonctionnelles.
De 1935 à 1974, la station de radio CKCV logeait dans le grenier du théâtre. L’inauguration du Grand Théâtre en 1971 provoque le déclin du Capitol. Abandonné en 1982, le bâtiment est restauré dix ans plus tard puis a rouvert sous le nom de Théâtre Capitole. Il a été classé monument historique en 1984 et désigné lieu historique national du Canada en 1986.
La ville de Québec est la capitale de la Province du Québec au Canada. Fondée au 17e siècle, Québec demeure la seule ville d'Amérique du Nord à avoir conservé ses remparts qui regroupent de nombreux bastions, portes et ouvrages défensifs ceinturant toujours le Vieux-Québec. Celui-ci a été classé au patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO en 1985 (WHL-300).
