This Image was captured from Arial Bill , Srinagor, BANGLADESH Just after the sun set, I try to capture the last glow from the twilight and due to low light and with out using tripod the image has some distortion, I like those mild red tone reflected in the water form the departed sun , which was very negligible , still Such reflection is rare to find from a Twilight , Hope you take the mood not the technical error of this shot,

This idea comes from a discussion I had with a rep at my local camera store. While I was there over the weekend a person came into the store and had a shiny D3s (might have been D3x) and all sorts of gear that clearly was brand new and hardly used. The guy was talking loud and bragging about his gear and these great shots he had taken, that he apparently had sent into magazines telling them what gear he had used to take them with and then said: "When magazines hear you took photos with professional gear, they look at you more seriously". (How funny is that statement!!)
What is funny is that after the guy left, the clerk was telling me the guy just bought all that gear the month prior and that was his first camera. "The guy is focusing more on expensive gear than the quality of the photo". Well they are out there!
So post up what you think makes a bad photographer.

Major General Ziaur Rahman became the 7th President of Bangladesh on April 21, 1977
This Bridge was Constructed by The Khaleda zia Government during her ruling period to facilitate pad strain to visit the graveyard , This is One of the beautiful bally bridge in Bangladesh. Its also a Recreational place / Park of these days at Dhaka city ,

This was taken form Belaai bill during y monthly phoo walk at rajendra pur, dhaka, BANGLADESH, it was an event just after the sun set and th last glow is seen on the water repal , the Glow looks dancing with the WAVE,
This image has slight distortion as this is a slow shutter and hand held, I could correct the distortion while
editing but i left this for viewers to judge the image perspective with this distortion and the surrealistic mood that we have enjoyed in Belaali bill while journey back form our mission of twilight shot at belai bill,

Some kids are really jealous of their younger siblings or new born siblings, but my nephew absolutely loves his baby sister. He comes from school and goes straight to taking care of her. Sometimes it seems as if he is all over the place. He's either reading a book to her or playing with a toy with her or singing to her, but at the end of the day, it does stress him out a little.

I have taken in numerous shots of the India Gate, but yesterday i found this reflection in the "Amar Jwan Jyoti" water. I took several shot as it became darker, but i liked this one when the sun has set almost 20 mins back.
Winter i.e. December and January are the best time to visit Delhi, when you can enjoy the sun out in the town.

The India Gate is the national monument of India. Situated in the heart of New Delhi, India Gate was designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens. Originally known as All India War Memorial, it is a prominent landmark in Delhi and commemorates the 90,000 soldiers of the British Indian Army who lost their lives while fighting for the British Indian Empire, or more correctly the British Raj in World War I and the Third Anglo-Afghan War. It is composed of red sand stone and granite.
Originally, a Statue of King George V had stood under the now-vacant canopy in front of the India Gate, and was removed to Coronation Park with other statues. Following India's independence, India Gate became the site of the Indian Army's Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, known as the Amar Jawan Jyoti (The flame of the immortal soldier).

This Photo was taken at Village SAILAN under DHAMRAI Upozilla, BANGLADESH and a rural area with lot of heritage and resources, I took this photo on 20thjan 29011 while my short visit to this village.
The Beauty comes true when the sun prepare to set at this bill area of SAILAN village, I saw A good no of ponds around, and it was abt 16:00 pm the sun ray just drop in the pond water like this way, and the middle ground leafless tree is a HIJOL Tree [a Bangla Local Name ] and far ground is another village , in between is the bill area which is under cultivation at this season ,and a safe harbor for migrated birds, And in rainy season , this goes under water and a safe harbor for fish, The beauty of Landscape mostly relay on this here at SAILAN,

To day Dolly had the first visit to Orthopedic after her operation
The dressing of the operated area was done well, did not have any complicated issues as normally happens in such cases ,
The doctor was very happy to see her recovery, Hope in next 15 days her stitch for elbow shall be removed
and the additional Screws placed for fixing the shoulder shall also be removed ,The screw fixed under the skin may continue for 6 months,
I am really grateful to all my flickr friend for the pray you made for a quick recovery,

Maharram
Muharram (Arabic: المحرّم) is the first month of the Islamic calendar. It is one of the four sacred months of the year in which fighting is prohibited.[1] Since the Islamic calendar is a lunar calendar, Muharram moves from year to year when compared with the Gregorian calendar.
Muharram is so called because it is unlawful to fight during this month, the word is derived from the word haraam, meaning "forbidden". It is held to be the most sacred of all the months, excluding Ramadan. Some Muslims fast during these days. The tenth day of Muharram is the Day of Ashura, which to Shia Muslims is part of the Mourning of Muharram.
Many Sunni Muslims fast during this day, because Musa (Moses) and his people obtained a victory over the Egyptian Pharaoh on the 10th day of Muharram;[citation needed] according to them Islamic prophet Muhammad asked Muslims to fast on this day, and also a day extra either before or after, so that they are not similar to Jews (since, according to him, Jews used to fast for one day due to the same reason)A lot of Muslims cook something sweet like sweet rice and contribute them in between their family and friends. They eat this when they are done breaking their fast.
Fasting differs among the Muslim groupings; mainstream Shia Muslims stop eating and drinking during sunlight hours and do not eat until late afternoon. Sunni Muslims also fast during Muharram for the first ten days of Muharram, just the tenth day or on both the ninth and tenth days; the exact term depending on the individual. Shia Muslims do so to replicate the sufferings of Hussein ibn Ali on the Day of Ashura. Shia Muslims, go further in their attempts of replication, including self-flagellation (also see Matam).
MAHARRAM and AUSHURA
Muharram is a month of remembrance that is often considered synonymous with the event of Ashura. Ashura, which literally means the "Tenth" in Arabic, refers to the tenth day of Muharram. It is well-known because of historical significance and mourning for the martyrdom of Hussein ibn Ali, the grandson of Muhammad.[2]
Shias start the mourning from the 1st night of Muharram and continue for two months and eight days. However the last days are the most important since these were the days where Hussein and his family and followers (consisting of 72 people, including women, children and aged people) were killed by army of Yazid I at the Battle of Karbala on his orders, Surviving members of the family of Hussein and that of his followers were taken captive and marched to Damascus and imprisoned there.
Muharram is also observed by Dawoodi Bohras in the same way as Shias.They practice prayers on the sayings of the present dawah of Bohras, Mohammed Burhanuddin. On the tenth day of Muharrum, they pray for Hussein till the magrib namaz. When the namaz ends, Hussein is considered shahid by Yazid. It is also close to the day of resurrection because it said in a book that this world will one day come to an end on Friday 10th of Muharram.[citation needed]
With the sighting of the new moon the Islamic New Year is ushered in. The first month, Muharram is one of the four sacred months that God has mentioned in the Quran.

I was Half the way to buy canon 16-35 F 2.8 L USM II lens for my 60D crop body canon, Then I meet Johnny here in flcickr , and Logically he motivated to go for Tokina, Be coz, CANON 16-35 no doubt a good lens, but canon 16-35 shall not be suitable for 16- 35,Rather I get f 2.8 and more wide in half the price , and for this moment till I do not buy a full frame body EOS 5D mark II, this 16-35 mm lens will be a wastage of its effectiveness due to 1.6 crop ratio. Fixed focal length lenses are smaller, have faster (wider) maximum apertures, (usually) focus closer, and are usually (but not always) sharper than zoom lenses.
Zoom lenses are more convenient. Rather than changing lenses, you merely have to turn a ring (or push and pull).
Two or three zoom lenses take up less space in your bag and are easier and lighter to carry around (and carry onboard an airplane) than six to eight fixed prime lenses.

Variable-aperture lenses tend to be lighter, smaller and less expensive than comparable fixed-aperture lenses.
If you plan using teleconverters and Polarizing filters, you should consider sticking to wider-aperture (faster) lenses.
Two-touch zooms are preferable to push-pull zooms.
Image stabilization is a good idea because there’s nothing worse than a photograph that would be terrific if it weren’t so blurry.
If you plan on shooting lots of close-up pictures, consider a true macro as opposed to a lens that features “close focusing.”
Weatherproof does not mean waterproof.
Multilayer coatings, ED glass, fluorite glass and aspheric surfaces are good things.
