The Great Blue Herons are busily gathering sticks for nest building at Michigan's Kensington Metropark, and this one flew right past me on its way back to the rookery.
I wondered about the tire tracks since it was early in the morning after a fresh overnight snowfall and I knew the owners were gone on a short winter vacation. Then I remembered they had horses that needed care so I am sure the tracks were from someone who they had asked to "do the chores." HFF

As i see you, it's not understandable for you
Come, I'll tell you
I let it rain confetti for you
I'll give you a lot of it
Call your name through all the boxes
The best person is you
I roll out the red carpet
Through the city, till the front of your house
You are the thing for me.
And the choirs sing for you

No mod cons - but the food is all fresh and cooked from scratch (Part of the "Feeding the Family" series.
Juliet isn't very excited about the chores she has to do from time to time x)
I'm so so grateful to my dad who built this amazing little cabin for my dolls <3 It was an absolute surprise for me! o^__^o
Happy weekend everyone! ♥
A Hummingbird Hawk Moth feeding on Buddleia in our garden today. I've neglected my macro shots this summer, so this was a lovely surprise this afternoon. Very fast and shy, quite difficult to get close to. I stopped to watch a butterfly, as I brought some washing in off the line and it flew in past my head! You can see eyelashes at full size,

Back in the summer I saw a group of paddle boarders and photographed them, but this guy recently was captivating. He cut a good figure in silhouette, conjuring up a gladiator for me... He does look to be doing some domestic chore too!
Hancock County - Iowa
This large field had maybe two hundred rolled bails waiting to be picked up. With the beautiful autumn we experienced here, not quite sure why it didn't get done!
Out roaming the back gravel roads of Hancock County yesterday in the delightful sunlight! Not sure if "wind chill" has much effect on rolled bales of hay! LoL
...dusting. Personally I hate it, but luckily Euro Auntie is more conscientious. There's lots to dust at Villa Bastet.
One of the delights of being a youngster on a Minnesota farm was the morning and nightly walk to and from the barn. Sometimes in -20 degree weather and an unfriendly wind, by the time you reached the barn your nose was stinging and your ears were so cold you feared they would tinkle off if you touched them. But cows were your friends as they were 1,000 pound heaters that probably saved your life.
Easter morning was a work day for this one as he made multiple runs for fresh nesting material in preparation for this year's chicks. He also needs to work on his approach skills for mating as he overshot the runway more than once. As with everything, with repetition he'll get it down.

"I have always been delighted at the prospect of a new day, a fresh try, one more start, with perhaps a bit of magic waiting somewhere behind the morning."

When i first bought my 760D some four and odd years ago, i was able to stick the book in my pocket and go out and about, shooting at will, to gain knowledge of the camera and its functions.
As you all will know, this time round is very different....
so, between some d.i.y chores i have been trying to devise ways of learning the new gear......
The Lens hood is all Black in colour, though you may not think so, just having a play with light and shade in creative Auto...
I set the shutter speed and f stop, knowing it would be a little slow,
i wanted to push the Iso in a relatively light scene, so as to understand the Camera and its many functions a little better....
