The Livingston Chocolate Company was a beverage distributor in Livingston, TN. Their national brands include 7UP, Dr. Pepper & Rockstar Energy (whose logo was behind a truck on the right.) Locally, the also offered Livingston Chocolate Drink whose motto was "Shake it, Sweetheart!"

 

This is painted on the side of their building north of the town square along TN52.

The Little Orphan Annie radio program was sponsored in the US by Ovaltine. The company also had give-aways of secret decoder rings, badges and pins to sell more Ovaltine.

Vintage 1930's Little Orphan Annie Mug, current label Ovaltine drink and vintage 1970's Ovaltine mug. I bought the Orphan Annie mug on ebay several years ago. I got the 1970's mug when I worked at Ovaltine Co. in Villa Park, Illinois in the mid 70's. And yes, we still drink Ovaltine ;)

So thick, it's like pudding.

In a recent trip to France, my Grandparents visited an Automaton museum in Falaise (Normandy).

The Museum contains a collection of over 300 'automatons' which traditionally were used by Parisian department stores in window displays at Christmas.

Various rows of 're-created' streets and shop windows from pre-1940's fill the museum of which I've apparently been but don't remember well.

They bought me back this; a postcard-sized metallic advertisement for 'Banania' which was, and still is, a popular chocolate drink for children in France to have with breakfast. For years the company used a smiling Senegalese man as the 'face' of their product until in the 80's the advertising campaign was labelled racist and colonialist and the whole franchise had to change. Since then it's become a sort of cultural icon and to this day you can still find replica/novelty signs around France. This one I scanned, although staying true to the original (seen here:click) has still changed the phrase at the bottom from 'Y'a bon!' to 'J'adore', conforming once again to Political Correctness.

"The breakfast of the champions" was the slogan of this cacao powder originated in Spain.

 

In Spain there's a "holy war" ongoing between two factions: Nesquik vs Cola Cao. The former claims Nesquik is better because it is dissolved in milk, whereas Cola Cao forms clots or grumes. The latter, loves Cola Cao due to those clots/grumes.

 

I like both of them.
