The Boca Chita lighthouse is located on Boca Chita Key in the Biscayne National Park, Florida. The lighthouse was built by Mark Honeywell who owned the island from 1937 to 1945. However, Honeywell never told the Lighthouse Service about the project. They soon informed him that the lighthouse was not charted and constituted a hazard to navigation. As a result, the lighthouse is ornamental only.
In the far distance you may make out the outline of Miami Beach.
