An imaginative creation left behind after (hopefully) an enjoyable beach outing in the school holidays. Park Beach, Coffs Harbour, NSW Lower North Coast.
Its sad to see an abandoned playground. If you stop for a moment you can here the echos of summer on the morning fog.
Young falcons practising their hunting skills.
When they are fully grown they will capture pigeons and other birds, coming at speed from above and behind, grabbing them with their talons.
It came too short this time.

I welcome any input about this type of toy and perhaps how long ago it was made.

Winter Childs Play...
From the archives..
Karen and I took a day trip to Jack Darling park In mid february 2020 and it was a warmer day than we have had in along time. We walked from one end of the park to the other.
At one point where the path meets the beach we found this outcropping of rocks covered in frozen driftwood and mounds of ice. at the edge we spotted this little girl playing in the sand, Innocent childs play on a winter day.

Typical UK bank holiday weather today, so have been sifting through the archives and found this one I'd not posted from last year.
The reason I rejected it initially was down to the low contrast (due to shooting into the sun). However, after processing it in Lr I decided I liked it, especially how I'd caught Ash catching a bubble.
Happy Easter everyone.
...she's a lovely, sweet girl....no, really... but i would suggest avoiding her at midnight on All Hallow's Eve; unexplained things happen
For Smile on Saturday!'s #creepycreatures theme
(My 9 year old was slightly concerned that killer doll zombies aren't really creatures; with apologies if i've stretched the interpretation too far....😯...i just love hallowe'en... )
birthday salute!
seems as i get older, i'm not as steady as i used to be. ;-)
although todd just told me he thinks i'm " pretty awesome for a dude who's pushing 60."
i'm not sure it that's a compliment or not, considering he's rounding my age up a bit.
actually, todd took this in the "crooked house," one of my favorite places at the strong museum of play, here in rochester. the little boy was running through the house in circles and was having almost as much fun as i was!
maybe that's why mr. t always says "fifty-something going on 15." just how old am i? say this little dude's age twice and you got it!

Sunrise at the beach with a child gazing out to sea at Umina Beach on the Central Coast, NSW, Australia.
A fragment of a time long gone, a place where laughter and play were the norm, no longer is.
A report recently stated that in some cities, only 25 percent of the households have children.
On the day of this photo, I was walking through a park that was completely empty of families. The swing represented a thing of the past and a structure of tomorrow's history.
Something a bit different for me. I was intrigued with this little scene while doing some work at my neighbor's house. It reminded me of playing in the dirt with my toy soldiers so many ages ago. My favorite days were just after a rain and there were puddles to play in. :)
Every holiday season~every year~it is the same thing~~~panic!!! People act like it is a total surprise the holidays are here and they haven't made appointments to get their dogs groomed...Makes for a very stressful and exhausting few days for me. One more day and then I'm off to Austin for the week end...then the run up to Christmas, ugh!!!

Sometimes, I question whether any of us ever really grow up. We may get taller. Our bones and muscles might get stronger. Our styles might change and we acquire facts and get a job but, deep down, when I see photos like these, I think we're all just that same small accusing human inside.
