This one is my new favorite. I am very partial to pink and black together. Created from baby pink and black felt and stuffed with polyfil.
Center has a black felt heart with Mickey mouse on one side and Minnie Mouse on the other...she's wearing the bow!
A honkin' big heart button is sewn to the center with a pink button on top. Large pearl embellishments are hand sewn onto black heart.
Medium/large sized heart measuring 4 3/4"W X 4 1/2'L (6" w/ ribbon loop) X 1 1/2" thick.

The Queen of Hearts had some tarts......
This is my version of Tea with the Queen, inspired by Alice in Wonderland.
Pictured here is the young Queen of Hearts, The Mad Hatter, The Cheshire Cat and Alice, The White Rabbit is going to be late, for he has been running all over my yard today. But don't fear, he is near and will be attending the tea party. Who would want to miss, cherry potion pop, vanilla tea, green forest bundt cake, creamy creme brulee cupcakes and apple cheese finger sandwiches, I wouldn't want to miss that!
4 3/4"W X 4 1/2'L (7" w/ hanging loop) X 1 1/2" thick.
Made of felt and fabric. I found a swatch sized piece of fabric with these cute bandana type hearts printed on it.. So, I cut out some of the hearts and sewed them together to create the center detail on this red felt heart. Added a red organza flower to the center and a white button to the base of the satin hanging loop.
The three fabric hearts are sewn to the felt but remain 'open' at the top to create a pocket..perhaps for a special love note..or some candy..or cash!
A special gift for my new friend Michele Holcomb. She has an awesome blog and did an entire feature on my felt plush hearts...so she is deserving of a special birdie...she had admired a pair in my shop so I asked what her favorite colors were..and voila! A pink and brown bird just for her..I must admit that I adore this combo too..
The brown felt is made of 100% recycled plastic bottles! It is also embossed with a gorgeous swirl design...

I combined both hand embroidery and machine stitching but found it actually more difficult to machine stitch some of the elements due to the complexity of the bird design on the plush heart..

Made to match the Pottery Barn Kids Penelope collection. I just love this whimsical bird.
Lately I have created either felt hearts or felt birdies so I thought perhaps I'd combine the two..here is the result.
Measures 4 3/4"W X 4 1/2"L(7" w/ hanging loop) X 1 1/2" thick. Combined hand stitching and embroidery with machine sewing..

Another felt heart ornament..with some luscious aqua/baby blue buttons made into a wreath..I have noticed recently that this color combo is becoming increasingly popular..especially during the Christmas season. I must admit..the colors are beautiful together..reminds me of an old Love's Baby Soft perfume bottle I had!! Boy I am dating myself now!!

Another Pottery Barn Kids made to match Penelope bird. This one is the large 'momma bird' size.
A repeat customer requested a larger sized bird to go along with the smaller one she purchased from me. She and I decided to have this one in the reverse color order of the other one and for it to be 2X as large so that she can pair them up together as momma and baby bird. She is planning to put them inot a birdcage as a decoration for a themed baby shower..and then to gift it to the momma to be..How sweet is that?
Made from some luscious cotton candy/hot pink and brown felt..all hand sewn and hand embroidered with blanket and chain stitches. Overstuffed...a small amount of glitter paint added in areas and gorgeous satin and organza pink ribbons for the tail and hanging loop.. The legs are crafted from yarn and embroidery floss..finished on both sides..
I think I will add some to the shop and perhaps some as momma and baby pairs as well..So see my profile page for all the links..
Finally, I have completed this customized prize from a hosted giveaway on craftgossip.com! The very sweet woman, Betty, who won the contest was allowed to have a heart created just for her. She adores Mickey Mouse and the color green. She has two grandbabies who love the color purple so I incorporated them both into this heart. Betty also adored a heart I had made that housed a small needle felted baby in the back so I created this with a 'pocket' on the backside and felted two babies for her so that her grandchildren didn't have to fight over the baby. I hope she loves it as it is long overdue and will be shipped out tomorrow morning!

Hollywood Regency style Brass Lamp found at a flea market near a lake in a little Texas town. Found this beauty tucked wa-a-a-y, high up, wa-a-a-y far back. The man in the Rebel gimme cap told me it had been there for years. It is so filthy it will probably weigh less by the time I scrub off all of the grime. Needs extensive work, but isn't it fabulous..? The brass flowers on the post remind me of the lamps on either side of Charley's bed in the movie A Single Man. Stay tuned!
