Just a note on how this is done, all it takes is 1/15th of a second and the aperture of your choice. I did this one pressing the camera to the ground (top down) without a tripod. Really a fun way to get some interesting race pictures, shooting running can be brutal. Enjoy... bg
I was worried about the chicken guy all day because he was beet-red by mile 7 and didn't seem be having any fun with his costume unlike any of the other costumed folks I saw.
Update: the chicken guy emailed me (now that we've been in contact, "guy" seems very informal -- "chicken fellow"?) and let me know that he was fine. He was, however, wearing double layers under the chicken suit to avoid chafing, which means he must have been even hotter than I thought. I know I was sweating in that banana suit and I was hardly wearing anything under it.
Update 2: CBS 2 Chicago interviewed Ed Curry before the race. He doesn't train, the chicken suit was custom made, and he didn't even see it until just before the race. Chicken Fellow, I salute you.
These runners are in the 4:15/4:30 pace group. Chicago Marathon, Addison St. at Broadway, Chicago, Ill.

"Chicago Marathon" prosthetic legs. Sometimes there's a difference between who crosses the finish line first and who really wins.
