One of several awesome gifts I received for doing a talk in town today.
If Mad thinks I'm ever taking this off the mantel, she's high.
this costume idea was more of a joke than anything-- we thought a chewie mask and a brown bikini would be pretty hilarious. but with Halloween looming, i led two teddy bears and an Alf puppet to the slaughter and made this lovely fur bikini. a wookie furkini, if you will.
costume still in progress-- missing my gun, ammo packs (is that what goes on that sash?) and of course, my Han Solo!!
The original Chewbacca costume.

Boy do I like this shot. I've been messing around outside while the weather is still good. (although I suppose I could do some Hoth stuff when it snows) I'll get some more up soon.
As promised. I think this picture is okay, but I much prefer the one with the tie-wearing businessman. The Lego Chewbacca just can't convey character all that well, you know, without a face. :D
Chewbacca is a 'Wookiee', originating from the fictional planet Kashyyyk, was a loyal friend and first mate of Hans Solo in the Star Wars franchise.

One of two recent additions to the household, this completely blind chihuahua-dachshund mix was found abandoned on a roadside in a crappy neighborhood along with a female chihuahua who had taken it upon herself to be his personal seeing-eye dog. He contnues to surprise me with his smiling resilience in the wake of innumerable face-first collisions with obstacles of all sorts.
If anyone has experience with congenitally blind dogs, I'd be happy to hear suggestions about how best to accomodate his special needs.

This girl's father is an absolute die-hard star wars fan. All the children's photos involve a star wars theme. This year she was Chewbacca.
Here is proof the cable tie method works.
The arm stays up even with the gun in hand.
This works for the vintage Darth Vader and Bionic Bigfoot as well......
The Rancor, Wampa and Alien are a little different. But can be fixed too.....
These figures are all Keener of course. And all have or can have arms bands break with age.....
