Before baking.
I forgot to take a picture after I baked it. It smelled so good I forgot to grab my camera.
The old elevator is situated along the historic 1850s Chicago & North Western Railway. Both can be considered former businesses. The C&NW was merged into the Union Pacific in 1995 and apparently the elevator is no longer operating as such. Although the main line of the railroad goes by, the spur that would have serviced the elevator appears to have been removed some time ago.
I couldnt find very much on this elevator. Historically, the Hyland Bros. operated an elevator in Cherry Valley, at least in the early part of the 20th Century that burned down in September of 1934. Possibly the one pictured above was the replacement.
An article in the Rockford Morning Star, Sept 3, 1934 proclaimed:
"The Hyland Brothers grain elevator at Cherry Valley was completely destroyed in a spectacular fire early this morning. Quick response by the Rockford fire department to a call for help, prevented a spread of the fire to adjacent lumber yards and the Northwestern Railroad Depot."
Old photo of the Hyland Bros Feed & Grain Elevator dated Circa 1910 - 15.
After 7 long years of waiting, I finally got a new Rose Petal Place prototype.
This Cherry Blossom is not as finished as the one in my prototypes album. That one has bangs that come down properly and the little bun in the back that her headband goes around. The final Cherry uses more pinks than my prototype, although I favor the colors used here, because there's already a lot of pink in RPP. Mine appears to have smaller lips than the finished one, which I also prefer. I love that tiny face! I normally do prefer more finished protos, as opposed to nude ones or ones with the wrong hair color or unfinished outfits, but I'm pleased with this girl.
Here's hoping it's not another seven years before I find another suitable prototype that I can actually win!

This is a panel of ANTIQUE Japanese obi fabric. This fabric is silk brocade, and it is woven with a luxurious 3D pattern of cherry blossoms and willow boughs on folding fans. The background is also decorated 3D with a faux shibori pattern. This fabric piece measures 32cm X 404cm (approximately 12.6" X 159.06"). It is enough to complete one side of a fukuro obi.
The fabric is in very good condition with just a couple of faint stains.
