Cheops Pyramid

Nice the meeting with her, a nice 7-year-old Knabstrupper and Michela, her owner, in this place that has definitely conquered me. I was on my way back to town to avoid getting stuck for decisions about the new Lockdown, when I suddenly decided to take a stroll around this special place again.

So I arrived here, in perfect synchrony with Cheops and Michela, fate had set us an appointment but we had not been warned. It turned out a beautiful and fun photo session, for me and for them. Much more beautiful and engaging than the photos taken in the racecourse; Cheops is sweet and calm, she let herself be caressed looking at me curiously. She had never been photographed before.

I like horses, but with this it was sympathy at first glance. I hope to see both again.

The Pyramid of Cheops (The Great Pyramid) is the oldest of the 7 ancient wonders of the world, more than 5000 years, in addition to its very excellent conservation, its bowels (sarcophagus chamber) can be accessed through a claustrophobic, but only corridor of more than 100 meters in length, ascending to 35 meters in height of the pyramd

Have a glorious day, everyone...

The Pyramid of Pharoah Khufu (2589-2566 BC). The nearby structures are ‘mastaba’ tombs of nobles.

We see now only the inner core structure. Originally there was a smooth white limestone casing – fragments remain in place at the base allowing calculation of its original height as 146m (481ft). The pyramid is rather accurately astronomically aligned. Over two million large stone blocks weighing a total of six million tonnes were quarried and dressed for the tomb's construction using copper tools and conscript labour.

If we remain in our last revelation and grow content with where we are at, at that point we die. Just as Christ expresses Himself in Creation, ever expanding, always in motion and sound, so are we to be continuously in revelation of His majesty and growing in our relationship to Christ.

The Tomb of Sesemnufer IV just southeast of the Great Pyramid, is always open. Passing its entrance with columns, the sculpture of a deer decorates the walls of the hall, and there is a mortuary chamber to which one can descend.

The Norwegian composer and violinist Ole B. Bull was a big star both in Europe and in the USA in the 1800s. He played on the biggest stages around the world and in 1876 he ascended the Pyramid of Cheops in Cairo. Here he plays from the top on his 66th birthday. When he died, 15 steamboats and countless other boats followed his coffin from his home Lysøen and into Bergen where he now has his final resting place.

It may sound cliché, but you need to be 100% sure to ride a camel through the Pyramids of Giza in the Cairo metropolitan area. Wonders of the ancient and modern world, they deserve to be seen from their best angle, and this is only possible if you are on a camel. Try to close the tour with an agency recommended by other tourists and before going to the pyramids, so you avoid being constantly harassed by the owners of the animals that are around the monuments (and falling on the more than beaten blow of the camel = looked, paid ). Contemplating the resting place of three Pharaohs, who have been there for about five thousand years, has its price, but it is also invaluable.

Technically, all of Cairo on the west bank of the Nile is Giza, although the name is generally related to the Pyramids, which are 9km from the river, at the tip of the desert.
