It's hard to resist the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Wings at Butchie's in Whitby. They're huge in size, flavour, and texture.

All meals are available with one, two, or three sides, and they're all delicious!

I've enjoyed my visits to Butchies over the years so when a foodie friend was coming to the area, I had no problems recommending them for a meal. We both ordered wings - Garlic Parmesan for her and Smoked for me. Between us, we had four sides - Hush Puppies, Brussel Sprouts, Crispy Yams, and Poutine.

Everything was delicious, with generous servings. The wings were large and meaty, cooked perfectly. The sides were all very tasty. We actually couldn't even finish our meal!

On top of all the good food, the service was really good

Owned and operated by Chef Andrea Nicholson of The Food Network, Butchie's offers great tasting food in a casual setting, including a pet friendly outdoor area next to a creek. Their simple but tasty menu offers sandwiches, wings, salmon, smoked pork, a great selection of sides, pies, craft beer, and more.

This time around, I had the smoked pork shoulder with mashed potatoes, and coleslaw. My friend had the pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw. Both dishes were as good as expected. Very flavourful.

Ever since discovering Butchies, I've enjoyed many delicious meals here. Their food is damn tasty, as their slogan says.

I was very excited to try their special Jamaican menu featured over two days. It all sounded so delicious!

Unfortunately, I got there a bit late and most of the featured items had already sold out. They did, however, have Jerk Pork and Sweet Potatoes available. I'll have that!

I really enjoyed the sweet potatoes but the jerk pork, although very tasty, lacked an authentic jerk flavour. It was more like their regular pork with a very mild jerk flavour. Even the smoky flavour was more like BBQ pork.

Although I was a bit disappointed, I did end up with a very tasty meal and a generous serving.
