‘Cavern of the Curious Gnome’, (also known as Paysan), 61 Bridge Street Row East, Chester, Thursday 17 August 2023
Located on one of Chester's unique shopping galleries called the Rows it is a difficult bar to find due to its hidden location and lack of signing, especially from street level, it took us five minutes. The venue is really in two halves, the downstairs section is called ‘Paysan’ where the emphasis is on wine, coffee and cheese. You walk through this area and up another flight of stairs to the ‘Cavern of the Curious Gnome’ where a colourful large papier-mâché dwarf gazes down on to a Belgium beer grotto, the seating here is mainly red and white spotted toadstools.
Four real ales are sold (20% off for CAMRA members Mon – Thurs). There is also a selection of craft, bottled and canned Belgium beers.
Food wise, cheeseboards are always available and chicken and frites are available from 12.30 Wednesday to Sunday.

Our final full day on Skye touring the NW corner of the Isle.
This is my new cheeseboard. I love it. It's such a pretty olive wood. The only thing I would have liked more is if it was cut more on the bias so that I could see more bark in the presentation.
Som vanligt, en extremt stor ostbricka.. över 20 ostar denna gång! =)
As usual.. a extremaly large cheeseboard.. over 20 cheese this time

Curry and Presentation Night at Lytchett Minster Rugby Club Clubhouse. Curry was provided by the Royal Marines from Poole. One of the best curries one can have. From mild to hot and a couple in between with rice, onion bhajis and poppadom with a cheeseboard, crackers and Port afterwards. A great night out all way round.
A friend took this shot outdoors. The background was a black marble cheeseboard that happened to catch the sky's reflection of clouds and a nearby tree, thus giving it a wintery look. It was actually quite warm that day!
