From Harvard Bridge, to the right is part of the 17-mile stretch of land along the banks of the Charles River, this section known as the Esplanade. It is here in the Hatch Shell, that the famous annual July 4th concert with the Boston Pops takes place. At 9:30pm, soon after the concert concludes, the fireworks are launched from 7 barges in the middle of the Charles River, involving 10,000 fireworks at a cost of over $2,000,000.
The Super Moon chose to rise directly in back of a half constructed building in Boston, seen from the Cambridge side of the Charles.
