NJT F40PH-2CAT #4120 leads a revenue train by Hollywood Avenue Crossing in Ho-Ho-Kus, New Jersey. November 21st, 2020
Iowa Chicago & Eastern operations across the former Milwaukee "D&I" mainline between Bensenville and Savanna were set up that one could usually find a daytime train moving around. Once operations were streamlined with sister Dakota Minnesota & Eastern, a new train was created to run from Belt Railway of Chicago's Clearing Yard across the IC&E to the DM&E and terminating at Huron, SD. On this day, MCCHU was hustling through the "S" curves at Leaf River, IL with a trio of SD40-2's. Snoot 6439 was always a neat catch. Looking through the older folders on the hard drive, I should have done this more!

Abused & Abandoned Jungle Dogs.
Figured the title would grab your attention !
I've made a major blunder and take full responsibility !
Today I've been called before "The Man" for a judgement !
So --
I'm standing straight as an arrow, shoulders back, chest out !
Your Honor, with all do respect and as stated above I do take
full responsibility for the issues at hand. Furthermore there
is an explanation as to why this slight mix-up took place.
And without further delay and of course with your
approval I'd like to start that explanation now.
Approximately 28-29 days ago this young abused an abandoned
puppy was dumped at The Monkey Temple by persons unknown.
Immediately she was taken in and given shelter from the storm.
A couple images of her emaciated body was shared on flickr.
Now Your Honor a number of brave souls took pity on her
and quickly donated funds to help with her health issues.
And just as quickly we went in to action getting her well.
Over time she has come in closer so I could remove the
dozens of bloated tics from her body but she remains
very spooky to close touch which is a result of abuse.
So Your Honor I stand before you to once again say
I take full responsibility for this slight of hand type
of mix-up. Everyone, including myself, were so
excited by her cute-ness she was named -
.. "Little Miss Lisa" ..
Your Honor,
This will be wrapped up soon as I'm now getting
to the end of the final part of this explanation.
Little Lisa was always hunched over with an arched back.
She was very sick and suffering from the agony of mange.
Little Lisa has been kept on medications and fed good food.
So,
Today Little Lisa was full of puppy energy and came in close.
This gave me a chance to go over her body much closer and
what did I find you might be wondering ? Your Honor in all
honesty I found that Little Lisa has a "wing-dang doodle !"
Your Honor you witnessed me raise my right hand
and swear to tell the truth and only the truth !
And I'm here right now to testify that not
only does Little Lisa have a doodle-
noodle but the family jewels too.
Your Honor I will get down on bended knee before
the court and swear I did not know of this before
todays early run out to The Monkey Temple !
But before you pass judgement on me I beg
the court to allow one last favor, please.
Before any mental health issues might occur with
Little Lisa finding out she is not a she, but a he.
I would like to petition the court to re-register
Little Lisa legally as Little Larry. Thank You.
Standing with head held high the gavel came
crashing down as the court is called to order.
A ruff callous voice barks out at the spectators
threatening to clear the court room if there's
any more yapping and hooting from them !
The Judge (talking)
Mr Jon the photo man he says while thumbing
thru a thick file. I have here before me an
interesting file. Some parts are very, what's
the word I'm looking for, impressive, yes
that's the word, but yet you live on a
river in a dangerous poison snake
infested jungle, why is that ?
Sir, (snapping to attention)
It is my sworn duty to never leave anyone
behind and that is exactly what I'm doing.
Well in that case I will now pass sentence.
The Judge --
Mr Jon The photo Man, I sentence you
to doing The Same Same But Different !
Furthermore you are to report back to
the court in 6 months for an update on
all the temple dogs plus Mr Gibbon .
And the court also excepts your
petition changing Little Lisa's
name to Mr Little Larry.
Court is adjourned ............;-)~~~
Thank you for your comments and donations.
Thank You.

Just rail lengths away from the Canadian border, White Pass and Yukon #73 is about to crest the summit in a cloud of exhaust and a flurry of snow. . The handsomely proportioned mikado is a post war baby , having been erected in 1947. The WP&Y is a must see for the serious enthusiast, justly famous for its stunning scenery and fascinating history. BR Standard 5 73082 'Camelot' storms the climb out of Horsted Keynes, passing the foot crossing north of the station on Sunday afternoon of the Giants of Steam Gala. The only real photos I took of the trains on this visit to the Bluebell, the sunny weather forecast failing to materialise aside from some weak sun as I was journeying down on the train from London to East Grinstead. The event was very busy, standing room only on the first train I got hauled by 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley.

Today I got a mail from a fellow Flickr and Instagram member Simon Clarke, telling me that he has seen my photos from this year's Spa Six Hours and that he was competing in the race with a Blue/Gold Ford Mustang No 107.
He kindly asked me if I had shot any photos of his car and if it would be possible to get them somehow.
I was really moved by his kind approach and started scrolling through my entire folder from the event hoping that I had shot a couple of his car. I was reaching towards the end and I was quite disappointed as I had not find not even a single one of the said Mustang but suddenly I came upon this photo which I remember very well from the moment I shot it because it was an instant fave.
So here it is, the charging beauty of Mr. Clarke and his buddies, along with my best wishes for their future racing and a big thanks for giving us such a good time!
DM&IR Consolidation #332 is making track speed of approximately 30 mph, as the barrels toward a rural grade crossing in Palmers, MN. The locomotive, which normally hauls tourist trains between Duluth and Two Harbors, is pulling a vintage freight consist on a photo charter organized by S&B Productions.
DM&IR 332 is a 2-8-0 Consolidation type, built in 1906 for the Duluth, Missabe, and Northern Railway as number 332. It was one of 32 locomotives of the C3 class built over a 2-year period between 1905 and 1907. In 1937 it became part of the roster of the Duluth, Missabe, and Iron Range Railway on the merger of the DM&N with the Duluth and Iron Range Rail Road. In 1955, DM&IR C3-class Locomotives 332 and 348 were sold to the Duluth & Northeastern, where they were renumbered 28 and 27 respectively.
D&NE 28 saw regular service on the D&NE between Cloquet, Saginaw, and Duluth, Minnesota. It was one of five remaining steam locomotives for the D&NE when steam was retired in 1964. D&NE retained #28 and used it for only special excursions until 1965. It was then put in storage in Cloquet.
In 1974, the locomotive was cosmetically restored and donated to the Lake Superior Railroad Museum. There it was on static display until December 2011 when a 5-year restoration effort began. The restoration was completed in 2017, and the locomotive now pulls excursions on the North Shore Scenic Railroad, which is operated by the Lake Superior Railroad Museum.

Along with the cuts on rail freight traffic in the last decades, most of Switzerlands narrow gauge railways have suspended their freight service. One of the few companies to still operate freight trains is the meter gauge Bière - Apples - Morges railway. Not only they maintained the normal cargo trains besides the special military transports, but they also managed to acquire new traffic. Since 2016, MBC operates several gravel trains a day between Apples and Gland. Consisting of eight standard gauge waggons, these trains can use the SBB mainline between Morges and Gland without problems, but have to be jacked up on special carrier trucks called "Rollbock" for the first part of their journey on the meter gauge section between Apples and Morges.
The trains are hauled by a former SBB class Re 4/4 II between Morges and Gland and by a meter gauge class Ge 4/4 between Apples and Morges.
On April 13th, Ge 4/4 22 «La Venoge» (SLM/ABB, 1994) was in charge of the last gravel train before the easter holidays and was about to pass the advance signal of Yens station, when this photo was taken.
Do you remember the Fish and Game poster I did a little while ago? Well I couldn't just leave the painting the way it was. There is something wrong with me.
This is the climb for Raitt tunnel, also known as the Home Creek Grade. This ex. N&W branch lies deep in the heart of Central Appalachian Coal Country. NS8880 built in 1995 leads the charge up the 1.7-1.8% climb at Lynn Camp, Virginia. Stormy weather and fog add to the drama as this coal train climbs one of the steepest grades in the east... the long coal drag had 3 big AC pushers on the rear...What a show!... Im hooked!
