The story is about how she got the name Chapati Patti, which means Indian bread grandma, and how that experience makes her accept imperfection as new opportunities. My grandmother, who is a good cook, stays away from making chapatis, as she could not get the perfect round shape. When a group of children enjoy the unique shapes of her imperfect chapatis, she overcomes barriers and accepts imperfection.

Rumbak - Our homestay hostess at Rumbak made us fresh chapatis. I was infatuated by the fact that all Ladakhis eat Indian food. I guess they are technically Indian. While the hostess made the chapati dough (atta) the same way I would, she cooked the chapatis outside on a piece of stone over hot coils. Very rustic food!
