Everybody's Changing
Keane
You say, you wander your own land
But when I think about it, I don't see how you can
You're aching, you're breaking
And I can see the pain in your eyes
Says Everybody's Changing, and I don't know why
So little time
Try to understand that I'm
Trying to make a move just to stay in the game
I try to stay awake and remember my name
But Everybody's Changing, and I don't feel the same
You're gone from here
Soon you will disappear, fading into beautiful light
'Cause Everybody's Changing, and I don't feel right
Going back through some images from our trip down to Cooma, just over a year ago, and I came across this one.
We found this tree, whilst out on a scouting mission for the following mornings sunrise, and it was just screaming out to be photographed, with that cloud behind it.
Hope you like "Everybody's Changing"
Cheers, Mike

The change of petticoat worked well beause my denim skater skirt had more of a flare to it. The cotton top was not as sexy as the faux leather bodice but it turned out to be a good decision to change my top because the venue was quite warm.
It was much fuller than it has been on recent Fridays due to the live band, who were excellent. They were a blues band and had two exceptionally good lead guitarists. I wish I'd recorded some of their stuff. The highlight for me was a superb rendition of 'All Along the Watchtower'.
Two families of Mute Swans were raised on the lake this year. The ones on east end of the lake had goslings that were white from the start; the west end swans were gray at the beginning, and have evolved over the months into a mottled white with gray and now the gray is more brown as it's changing into the pure white that swans are noted for. In addition, the bills of young swans are gray, but change to orange as they mature. This one shows the change that is coming.
So many things changed the way I see myself.
It's like I'm born again, still with the same defects than before, but also with more self-confidence.
It seems I can be truly loved the way I am, and for the first time of my life I start to believe it. It gives me wings, it gives me a new strength, it gives me the freedom to play with my body, my image, without carrying too much about what people can think about it (oh, that was so funny to play the model in this cold and smelly place, people looking at me like I was an alien :D). If I like it, if I enjoy expressing myself the way I do, that's what matters.
The worse moment of my life was the starting point which made me realize I really had to do something, to take care about myself, seriously. Then I would be able to take care about someone I love.
That meant to do sport, to stop hurting myself with food which isn't good for me, but especially to start loving myself and allowing me not to be perfect. For real, this time, not only with words but with actions.
I jumped from this plane in april this year (pure craziness!!!), and not alone. With the most precious person to my heart today. Someone so generous.
By the way, halenism helped me for this pic (and for so much more).

Mirepoix is situated in the Hers valley between Carcassonne and Pamiers.
Mirepoix was captured in 1209 by Simon V de Montfort and given to one of his lieutenants, Guy de Lévis. The town, originally on the right bank of the Hers-Vif, was destroyed by a violent flood in 1289. It was rebuilt by Jean de Lévisin 1290, on an elevated natural terrace on the other side of the river. The layout of the town center has not changed since the 13th century.
Mirepoix Cathedral (Cathédrale Saint-Maurice de Mirepoix), a former Roman Catholic cathedral and national monument of France, was the seat of a bishopric until 1801.
Somehow the magic around us seems to dissappear into the cool night air while all we can do is stand and observe.
Everything is changing with the autumn and darker nights, new beginnings for earth and man.

Numerous townships are being over run with large windmills that have changed the landscape dramatically.

Today was a bit of change for me, as I was taking landscapes with 50 and 85mm prime lenses, handheld (no tripod) and no filters.

So much in this scene may change in the near future as the former Pennsy signals at Port Royal will disappear once PTC is cut in, and the SD80MAC fleet re scheduled for rebuilding in the near future as well to SD80ACUs. Even the bridge in this scene may be replaced.

Ever since I got interested in bird photography three years ago it seems like everyone I talked to about Bald Eagles inevitably asked "Have you been to Conowingo Dam?" My answer has always been "not yet." That changed on 31 October 2018, and now I see why everyone asked that question. In late autumn and winter Conowingo Dam commonly plays host to a large congregation of Bald Eagles, sometimes more than 100. The day I was there (a weekday) there were more photographers than eagles, and I'm sure that is often the case (I cannot imagine how many go there to see the eagles on a weekend). And though it was supposedly a "slow day," it was still spectacular. I'd estimate there were between 25 - 40 eagles there that day.
Multiple spillway gates on the far side of the dam were opened during my visit, that kept several rock outcrops where eagles often perch inundated, and also lured most of the eagles very far away from where photographers have access. There were only 3-4 times when an eagle made a hunting pass on the near side of the dam, so most of my shots were more of a scenic nature than close-up action. The cascading water and spray from the spillway did provide a dramatic background for those distant shots. FYI, the dam is 94-ft tall and almost 4,700 feet long.

……From the play ‘Bonaventure’ by Charlotte Hastings, a play from the 1950’s set in a Norfolk Convent. Jill went to watch Friday nights performance and I did my ‘shift’ on scene changes and we both agreed it was a great show & Kathy McEntagart plays the lead roll brilliantly and was admirably supported by the rest of the cast. Last night tonight…. Alan:-)

Today October 18, a year is commemorated since the people rose up en masse against all the injustices accumulated over decades. And it is thanks to the popular clamor and various demonstrations throughout these months that today, a year later, we are days away from voting to start a new constituent process. Chile woke up and is still awake, I have faith that times of change are coming, which will be for the better. Take care of yourself and vote APPROVAL (plus CONSTITUTIONAL CONVENTION) in one more week and thus take one more step towards a better future
I was looking through my photos from this summer and I came upon this shot of a Canada Goose swimming through a reflection that almost gave it winter vibes. It reminded me that even though summer is over, there will be lots of new opportunities to photograph this winter!
My new neighbours move in today. I think its going to be a shock having people around again after a year of having no one next door at all. I know they will be putting a fence line up as they have a small dog so we will have our privacy.
Got go all through that introducing Helen thing all over again now. Not that I am bothered only bored with doing it,

D1062 'Western Courier' is on the centre road at Bristol Temple Meads on 2 March 1974. The actual working is not recorded, although 1A45 suggests Penzance to Paddington; did it come this way?
D1062 was withdrawn less than six months later at a mere 11 years old, but was later to become the first of the class to be preserved and is currently active on the Severn Valley Railway.

I went to the lake across the road from my sister-in-law's house to take some photos of the ducks and geese yesterday morning. There weren't too many of them around, but there were other things that caught my eye, so it was still a worthwhile trip. Most of the trees around here whose leaves are starting to change color are starting with just a few leaves here and there. I was surprised at how many have already turned red on this one. Unfortunately, the photo doesn't do it justice.

The modern city of Alba Iulia is located near the site of the important Dacian political, economic and social center of Apulon, which was mentioned by the ancient Greek geographer Ptolemy. After Dacia became a province of the Roman Empire, the capital of Dacia Apulensis was established here, and the city was known as Apulum. Apulum was the largest city in Roman Dacia and was the seat of the XIII Gemina Legion. Apulum is the largest castrum located in Romania, occupying 37.5 hectares (93 acres) (750 x 500 m2). The early Slavic name of the settlement was Bălgrad (meaning "white castle" or "white town"). The "white city" name was Latinized into Alba Julia. Between 1541 - 1690 it was the capital of the Eastern Hungarian Kingdom and the Principality of Transylvania. Alba Iulia is historically important for Hungarians, Romanians and Transylvanian Saxons. The change of guard, troops from the city's Austrian Empire's infantry, cavalry and artillery divisions in their traditional military costumes, happens every day at 12 pm. It takes place nearby the 3rd and 4th Citadel Gates, two of the largest and most imposing of the citadel's seven gates and is attended by a large crowd.
