There's a lot about this melon online, typically under the "Korean Melon" common name, but I couldn't find much about what makes up the hybrid other than it was with Cucumis melo. Please comment if you have any additional info!

It's not hard to sort out where my inspiration for these shots come from if you check my stream with any regularity. I've been occupied with the strobist stuff so much lately that I forgot how much fun it is to get out and do night shooting with the prime lenses. I also forgot how much fun it is to have elderly Korean women scream at you for taking photos of their fruit with no intention to buy.
Summer brings these little yellow melons to the fruit stands in Korea. I am pretty sure they are called 참외 (chamoe) but I have heard them called a bunch of different names. I call them honey melons and they are awesome. The skin is soft enough to peel with a peeler and you can eat the seeds on the inside. It kind of tastes like a less sweet, less sour honeydew.
On our jaunt out to vote in the advanced polls today, we stopped to pick up lunch. And I snagged one of these "Korean Melons" or chamoe... If anyone knows about them, please fill me in. Wikipedia says they are good for fever, so I'm having some!!! . . . #melon #fruit #hadtogoogleit #chamoe #yellow #chinatowneast #Toronto #food #mystery #mysteryfood #whatisit #fbcigers #LexGoFurther via Instagram ift.tt/2sh8xmk
