The way the light has illuminated the top bud kind of reminds me of one of these human chakra diagrams where the crown chakra of enlightenment - the Sahasrara, is lit up. It is normally depicted with a lotus flower, but I think this one does a nice impression. Perhaps on some level, the fact it has thorns adds rather than detracts.....
It's a bit of a stretch I know, I was tempted to put a star burst onit but managed some self restraint, not bad for an old fool on this day.

Orange Chakra - It was a challenge photographing the Allen's Hummingbirds out at the coast. They were shyer than previous years, so I had to stay very still and time my photography with when the clouds covered the sun just right to get that nice overcast diffused light. I spent about 4 hours standing in the same spot to capture this particular pose on a nice perch.

Macro Mondays 'sewing notions' theme.
I have set of these pretty sterling silver chakra stitch markers; really not a necessary purchase but it was one of those impulse buys when they caught my eye. I wasn't even looking for stitch markers at the time. However they have come in useful for my current knitting project which will end up with 562 stitches on the needles and needing a stitch marker every 17 stitches. I think I will be using every stitch marker that I own!

Candid street photography from Glasgow, Scotland. A rapid reactive shot to a fast moving subject so the focus is a little off but there are some seriously interesting tattoos and piercings here. It looks to me like she has inked her chakras and there are some curious moon phase tattoos on her hands. Enjoy!

Vuole forse suggerire agli spettatori di cercare se stessi in quello spazio che l’artista ha volutamente lasciato vuoto? Chissà se nel buio più profondo si può intravedere, attraverso uno spiraglio di luce, il filo di Arianna che ognuno di noi sta cercando.

Chakrapani Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu located in Kumbakonam, Tamil Nadu, India. In the temple, Lord Vishnu appears in the form of a discus or Chakra to put down the pride of Surya(the Sun), who subsequently became his devotee
The temple is noted for its exquisite pillars. The presiding deity, Chakrapani has 8 arms. There is a bronze image of king Serfoji II worshipping the lord as he is said to have been cured an illness by the grace of this God. A panchamukha(five-faced) Hanuman is erected in the prakaram (outer precincts of the temple)
In 1620, when Govinda Dikshitar, divan-administrator for the Nayaks, constructed the Ramaswamy Temple, Kumbakonam, he added a commercial corridor between the new temple and the older Chakrapani temple
This temple is situated on the southern bank of Cauvery in Kumbakonam Railway station, Thanjavur district, Tamilnadu. It is the second Vaishnavite temple in Kumbakonam town. Here the main deity is Chakraraja and Sudharshana Chakra.
The Eastern and Western entrances of this temple are known as “Thatchinaya Vayil” and “Utharavana Vayil” respectively and outer Prakara of this temple is made in the form of balcony. Agampara Vinayakar, Panchamuga Aancheneyar and Vijayavalli are the important idols located in this temple.

Après que j'ai fait cette photo, j'étais prise par beaucoup d'émotion, car, c'est probablement ma photo préférée (faite par moi) à ce point de ma vie. J'ai enfin, l'impression de faire les photos dont j'étais née pour créer, comme si je touche le fond en moi et je peux maintenant traduire tout ce que je trouve là en art.
After making this photo yesterday, I was taken aback by a wave of emotion. It's probably my favorite photo that I have ever made, and I have the impression that, at last, I am touching the depths of who I am as a human being and am finding ways to translate what I find there into my art.
