After a starter of figs and mozzarella cheese wrapped in prosciutto, we had saltbush lamb, roast veg and pears poached in red wine with vanilla ice-cream. And then we fell asleep!

We returned to explore more of Mazatlan on our 6th day, heading to the southern end of the bay and Cerra Crestón, the highest point in Mazatlan. There was a heavy blanket of fog covering the entire bay but it began to break at Cerra Crestón, where the hill rises well above the fog. Here we hiked to the top to see the 2nd highest lighthouse in the Americas and take in the dramatic fog-swept views engolfing Mazatlan. We then walked back to our sister resort the Pueblo Bonito Mazatlan - pictured here, enjoying a few more views in the city before returning to Emerald Bay in time to catch another sunset over the Pacific Ocean in beautiful Mexico.
