We changed our plans for a big day out because the weather forecast promised rain. Instead we spent the afternoon in the local park. I was cursing the forecasters as the day stayed warm and sunny. However, actually we ended up having a lovely time - all the kids in the park played nicely together and we sat back and watched, making the odd daisy chain as requested. Sometimes its good to keep the entertainment simple.

I can't stand dogs chained to things. Especially as it was one of 6 dogs chained to a cart. The woman that owns the cart must be like a "dog lady"..... taking her companionship from dogs....

This was my favorite chain that I wore everyday for years. It got tarnished and a little worn out before finally breaking. After a while, I decided to replace it with a new one.

Active Assignment Weekly December 1 - 8: Unexpected Beauty

WIT: I love rust and chains, which I think look cool in photographs. This was a lock and chain on a shed by my house. Sharpened and desaturated and cropped to 8 by 10.

This necklace is made of durable Pyrex glass. Each link is individually flameworked, one at a time. I made the glass chain necklaces and belts for Calvin Klein's show at NY Fashion Week FW2014-15. This chain is a unisex item, and looks equally appropriate with elegant clothing as with everyday wear.

I've been making glass chains since 1999, and they are extremely strong and resilient. I sell this with a guarantee that if it does break, I will fix it as long as the majority of the links are intact.
