Aan het eind van de middag ging ik nogmaals op stap richting het spoor. Ik ging naar Culoz om te kijken of er foto's gemaakt konden worden van het te slopen materieel wat op het emplacement staat. Helaas was de sloper SME flink aan het werk geweest want alle Eurostar treinstellen en de meeste TGV's waren al weg. Er stonden enkel wat TGV tussenbakken , een sleepje locs en aantal losse rijtuigen waarvan eigenlijk amper een foto te maken was. Nadat ik ook nabij de seinpost had gekeken aan de zuidkant van het emplacement besloot ik een beetje teleurgesteld terug te gaan naar de camping.
Voorbij het station moest het spoor weer overgestoken worden maar de overweg ging net voor mijn neus dicht. Jullie kennen het wel, je kijkt automatisch wat er aan komt. En wat was dat? Zwarte voorkant? Rare loc, stoomtrein? Ja! Omdat de trein er niet veel vaart in had zitten werd in een split second besloten het weggetje parallel aan het spoor in te rijden (wat overigens niet heel subtiel ging ;-). Er werd razendsnel een plekje uitgekozen, uit de auto gesprongen en letterlijk op goed geluk geklikt.
Achteraf zeker niet ontevreden, zeker gezien de zon die ook nog even op het juiste moment doorbrak.
We zien hier de 241 P17 van 'Chemins de Fer du Creusot' welke op de terugweg is van Aix les Bains naar Le Creusot. Een rit die jaarlijks gereden word in augustus, aldus de website die ik naderhand maar eens opzocht.

As some of you may know I donated a 200 piece commission to Creations For Charity. The buyer requested a solid blue carriage for her Harry Potter collection.
These colors would not have been my first choice, but the buyer asked for the red roof, yellow highlights, and the blue body. I was also only supposed to use certain parts because the buyer would like to replicate this. Although I had my doubts, the buyer was extremely pleased with the final version.
This was the first time I had ever attempted anything like this, so it was a bit of a challenge.
Btw, those flags are magical. They can go in a fixed position. :3
