Yea Celtic Colours. It's time to escape to evenings of great traditional music, hikes around glorious trails and beautiful sunsets over sandy beaches...but will miss Flickr.
It would be nice if Flickronians had Flickr hats to help recognize one another. I'll bet there will be others shooting the glorious scenes there!
Timoleague Abbey, near Clonakilty (Cloich na Coillte), Co. Cork, Ireland.
Timoleague abbey was founded by the franciscan order in 1240 A.D. The abbey was built on the site of a monastic settlement founded by Saint Molaga in the 6th century. The village's name comes from the Irish for House of Molaga, Tigh Mologa. The abbey was extended by Donal Glas McCarthy in 1312, and by Irish and Norman patrons in the 16th century. The monks were dispersed by the Reformation, but returned in 1604. In 1612 the abbey was sacked by English soldiers who also smashed all of the stained glass windows, but much of the significant architecture remains. The friars remained in the abbey until 1629.
I started to make a chain, and turned it into a pendant instead. A little different from Celtic star, but I like it
this cross can be found in the grave yard of Bamford church, however I suspect it is not really celtic but just has a nice celtic design....
Since early 2012, Celtic Travel of Llanidloes has operated three of these stylish Wright Eclipse 2 Urban-bodied Volvo B7RLEs on Service X75 (Rhayader-Llangurig-Llanidloes-Newtown-Welshpool-Shrewsbury) after taking over the service from Tanat Valley the previous year.
The service has its roots in Crosville and Crosville Wales Service D75 (Llanidloes-Shrewsbury), which, after passing through the hands of Midland Red (North), Arriva Midlands North and Arriva Cymru, transferred to Tanat Valley, as a Powys CC contract, in 2006.
Two of the three Volvos - BG61 SXX and BG61 SXV - are pictured in Newtown Bus Station in September 2013, heading for Shrewsbury (Amwythig) and Llangurig, respectively.
Since the photograph was taken, the layout of the Bus Station has been reconfigured to a 'drive in, reverse out' facility, and the company received three MCV eVoRa-bodied Volvo B8RLEs for the service in Summer 2018.

I could not believe this using perspective in Photoshop it changed a straight picture of this sign on a wall into one that looks taken from the side. It also looks shorter to me on one side than the other, but it is not.

This September 2012 shot of BX61 SXW was taken at Llangurig, when she was awaiting the arrival of Dennis Enviro300 BX05 FFC on Service X47 to Aberystwyth, and which was also providing a connection from Llandrindod Wells and Rhayader. The Renault minibus was undertaking a driver changeover role.

Celtic Travel of Llanidloes retains three Wright Eclipse Urban 2-bodied Volvo B7RLEs, new in early 2012, as back up vehicles to its five MCV eVoRa-bodied Volvo B8RLEs that arrived in 2018.
BG61 SXW from the batch retains branding for Service X75 from the days when the trio were the main allocation to the service, and is once again employed on the service in this mid January 2020 shot as she passes along Smithfield Road in Shrewsbury.
